Solid and inexpensive introduction
Revisado: 12-06-19
The lecturer is a little stilted and there are quite a few pauses, but he grew on me and his grasp of the topic is solid. I dont know why the program isnt better rated, as it is informative and enjoyable throughout. Bottom line is, if you have any interest in the subject it is well worth the listen, and one of the least expensive great courses.

Historia
You get ready to die the way you get ready for a trip. Start by realizing you don't know the way. Listen to a few travel guides. Study the language, look at maps, gather equipment. Let yourself imagine what it will be like. Pack your bags. This book is one of those travel guides - a guide to preparing for your own death and the deaths of people close to you. The fact of death is hard to believe. Sallie Tisdale explores our fears and all the ways death and talking about death make us uncomfortable - but she also explores its intimacies and joys.

Revisado: 07-04-19
Thoughtful and thought provoking discussion about life, death, and choices. Nonjudgmental and nondenominational, though informed by Buddhist thought. Sage advice throughout. Well worth relistening. Several appendices make me think I might want the print copy too.

Enormously entertaining and emotionally dense, this is both history and autobiography, at times thrilling and frequently touching. Caro is an ideal narrator.

Historia
Without even realizing it, we all use the fruits of political philosophy. From liberty to democracy to community, the terms and concepts originated by political philosophers are ingrained in our global consciousness. Yet many of us have an incomplete picture of how these ideas developed and, quite possibly, a skewed perception of their intentions and implications. This highly relevant course sheds light on the labyrinth of Western political and social theory, as well as its influence on modern history.

Enjoyable chats with a comedy great
Revisado: 10-13-18
Newhart is a national treasure and these chats with younger commedians are a pleasant diversion. Ends on a sour note with a regrettable extended riff by the usually dependable Conan O'Brien on personal enrichment from charity gigs, an unfunny premise that had nowhere to go, but went there at length.
