Historia
Detective Josie Quinn is horrified when she’s called to the house of a mother who had her newborn baby snatched from her arms. A woman caught fleeing the scene is Josie’s only lead, but when questioned it seems this mysterious girl doesn’t know who she is, where she’s from, or why she is so terrified.... Is she a witness, a suspect, or the next victim? As Josie digs deeper, a letter about a mix-up at a fertility clinic links the nameless girl and the missing child to a spate of killings across the county.

Terrible Narrator
Revisado: 07-26-24
The story was ok, the main character didn’t seem like Captain material. The narrator can’t say words correctly and it’s very distracting and a few times I couldn’t even tell what the word was. She is also not the best actor as well as sounded like her first time reading the story due to not putting proper inflections on words and a few stumbles. Also did not sound professional as there was occasional in and out of the microphone.

Heartbreak, hard to listen to story that we all need to know.
Revisado: 04-05-24
I have a feeling the devastation and fear these poor prisoners faced is not even slightly touched on even though it was hard to listen to at times. I’m glad I did. I love Lale’s love for Gita and hers for him. Wonderful narrator as well which can make or break an audiobook.

Didn’t enjoy this one
Revisado: 04-23-23
Domestic violence that is not admonished by victim or anyone else. I feel this part of the story gives a very bad perception for real women experiencing DV.
She doesn’t consider herself a lesbian, (but bisexual.) Of course not. You’re attracted to all kinds of men but only one woman. I call that an obsession, not who or what you are.
TW: celebrated abortion.
I feel that the author wanted to hit a bunch of hot button issues but I did not enjoy reading it. I did finish to find out the ending but could have not read the book and been happy.

The book quickly captured my attention. There were a couple predictable outcomes along the way and a couple areas that could have been better developed, but I overall enjoyed the book.

Narration got better as time went on.
Revisado: 08-26-22
Decent story.
Narration got better as it kept going. I almost quit in the first few minutes. Should not be compared to where the crawdads sing. Definitely don’t listen to it right after. Not as good. Way too similar storylines and seems almost plagiarized. At least parts of it. Ones in a swamp. Ones in a marsh. Secluded, lonely young girls who have to learn how to do life on their own.
Listen to it. Just do it before you listen to Where the Crawdads Sing. And be patient, the narrator improves.

The story was ok. I think the narrator almost killed it for me. Although she was great with different accents and different voices for each character just has a very strange voice.

Great story! Everyone I thought I had things figured out I was proven wrong. I like how so many different twists and stories were brought all together in the end. The narrator was a bit slow for me so I listen on 1.2 which was great. I like the option.

Kept my interest
Revisado: 09-16-18
I enjoyed the story. It wasn’t deep or hard to follow. There were a few twists and turns. I like when a book brings everything together in the end. The narrator drove me a little crazy with weird pronunciations of a few words. For instance every time she said “anything” she pronounced “enythin”. There were other things too. Nothing too unbearable but I did notice each time. Distracts from the story.
