Historia
When Nicole Rayburn travels to Lockwood Hall and begins to research Alys’s story for a new book, she discovers startling irregularities in Alys’s case. Nicole’s suspicions mount as every answer leads to more questions. What really happened to Alys? And what became of her son, who disappeared the day she was hanged? Could it be that Alys’s death was the result of a well-planned conspiracy, or is there another, less obvious answer? And who is trying to sabotage Nicole's efforts by stealing her work?

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

well...
Revisado: 12-17-19
sigh, the story line was just all over the place, apocalyptic, Harry Potter magic, devil or demon, city to rural, killing, birthing babies, reestablishing a society, light vs dark, plagues, crows, then each story direction was just abandoned after spending meticulous details building the scenes and characters were just abandoned as well. Would not recommend and just unusual writing for Nora Roberts.

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Yes, beautiful story!
Revisado: 11-20-19
Beautiful story. Narrator is AMAZING. Moments of real tears, moments of fear and sadness, moments of sheer pride and hope for everyone and everything. Gosh, what a story of life, women, friendship, endurance and a reminder of the goodness in people and love. There were times I found myself standing completely motionless lost in the story. Yes,yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!

I LOVE Susan Bennett book narrations but not this one. I found her Male character voices very annoying. i specifically look for books she narrates because typically quality book and wonderfully skilled narration. I will probably enjoy book just reading myself.

Historia
Shadowvale isn’t typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. No one knows this as well as raven shifter Deacon Evermore, who, like everyone in his family, has a curse. While his position as Shadowvale’s peacekeeper lets him use that curse for good, he’d rather live anywhere else. He stays for his family but doubts he can last much longer.

Narrator ruined story line for me
Revisado: 10-05-19
i would think i would enjoy this book. it has all the ingredients in a story I like, however, the Narrator lost me. Narrator has a wonderful voice and tone but his cadence and expression or lack thereof has me returning this audio book. His style is so disjointed and awkward one simply doesn't follow the story. i would probably enjoy just reading it.

When she's asked to host seven guests for a week-long stay to research Carrow's phenomena, she hopes to finally experience some of the sightings that made the house famous. At first, it's everything they hoped for. Then a storm moves in, cutting off their contact with the outside world, and things quickly become twisted. Doors open on their own. Seances go disastrously wrong. Red liquid seeps from behind the wallpaper.

Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

will be returning stopped at chapter 8
Revisado: 06-20-18
This may appeal to some but it was a continuous narration of the uglness, cruelness, inhumane and twisted part of life if you choose to focus, live and describe it. I read for pleasure, entertainment and escape. Its like listening to the news all the ugliness of our world. Just not for me.

Historia
On a day that begins like any other, Hal receives a mysterious letter bequeathing her a substantial inheritance. She realizes very quickly that the letter was sent to the wrong person - but also that the cold-reading skills she's honed as a tarot card reader might help her claim the money. Soon, Hal finds herself at the funeral of the deceased...where it dawns on her that there is something very, very wrong about this strange situation and the inheritance at the center of it. Full of spellbinding menace and told in Ruth Ware's signature suspenseful style, an addictive thriller.

so disappointed
Revisado: 06-19-18
I believe I would have really enjoyed the story line. I kept coming back and trying to get used to the narrator. I gave up at Chapter 4.
I personally disliked her style. Over acted on every word and sentence. Her pace was also too slow and interruptive to keep me engaged in the story line. I am going to get the book to read though.

Did not like performance
Revisado: 03-09-18
This was a good story but I couldn't stand some of the character voices and her yelling. This is a book not a play. When she just read, it was excellent but way over board on the voices and I couldn't even listen sometimes. I listen to audio books to relax not to be agitated by loud voices and yelling and over acting.
