Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Revisado: 09-03-20
What an impoverished and beggarly childhood for all five of the Trump children. It does not excuse his complete lack of responsibility for his many poor decisions or his juvenile way of dealing with anyone who disagrees, but it explains where his complete lack of ability to be responsible originated. Too bad Dad was so out of touch with reality himself.

Historia
This riveting narrative explores the lives of six remarkable female pharaohs, from Hatshepsut to Cleopatra - women who ruled with real power - and shines a piercing light on our own perceptions of women in power today. Female rulers are a rare phenomenon - but thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, women reigned supreme. But throughout human history, women in positions of power were more often used as political pawns in a male-dominated society. What was so special about ancient Egypt that provided women this kind of access to the highest political office?

Historia
The revealing and inspiring memoir of a woman forced into polygamous marriage in FLDS Church and her brave struggle to protect others from the same fate. Rebecca Musser grew up in fear, concealing her family's polygamous lifestyle from the "dangerous" outside world. Covered head-to-toe in strict, modest clothing, she received a rigorous education at Alta Academy, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' school headed by Warren Jeffs.

It was interesting to hear from a cult insider
Revisado: 12-29-18
Becky Musser is a curious combination of someone who still is part true believer and part apostate. She obviously still believes that the Mormon faith is on some level valid and important. On the other hand she has completely abandoned parts of the believe system of the FLDS. She does not show any belief in Warren Jeffs and is obviously conflicted on his father Rulon Jeffs who was her husband. She never stops referring to him as The Prophet but repeatedly tells of ways that this belief in him was challenged by her living with him and seeing his day to day living and decision making. She has rejected the concept of polygamy and its repercussions on herself, her mother, her fellow sister wives and the children involved in all those relationships. It was quite intriguing to read and I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about this group and its leadership.
