Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. Awesome as always
Revisado: 01-10-25
Kate and Michael do an amazing job as always and I do appreciate that the voices have been consistent throughout the archive. In this book we see so many stories developing and expanding. We get a glimpse into what is coming and I for one can not wait for the next 5 books ❤️

Uplifting and exciting Tress and co. are fantastic!
Revisado: 07-20-24
Brandon Sanderson is a fantastic author and I’ve enjoyed his other stories as well. This story is definitely different than those that came before. Oh the writing is still vibrant and compelling, the characters dynamic and alive and then there is more. Sanderson says he was inspired by The Princess Bride and I suppose I can see it though this creation is even better. I don’t say that lightly, Wesley and Buttercup had an amazing adventure, but Tress, now there is a girl you want to spend time with. From wonderful tips for life from the narrator cleverly inspiring readers, to comedic episodes that will have you laughing. This book like The Princess Bride has it all, adventure, pirates, exciting battles, thrilling and thoughtful obstacles and yes a story of true love. I could wish the story was longer… not because it needed to be, no the ending is perfectly timed and placed… rather I just wanted more time with Tress and the others. I will simply have to put my own imagination to work might happen next… for Tress I hope it’s no where as exciting as this adventure was.
Thank you Brandon for another wonderful story and what should become a family favorite in every home.

Throughout the land, hushed voices whisper of brittle ground and a faint scent of brimstone in the air—and Murtagh senses that something wicked lurks in the shadows of Alagaësia. So begins an epic journey into lands both familiar and untraveled.

The story is good, the performance is grating
Revisado: 01-11-23
Let’s do the bad 1st. As often happens when voice actors change between books many of the character names are pronounced differently. That’s annoying however the things that got me were the mispronunciations of more common words like filings being read as fillings or when Marcus is called Matthew, which happens at least 2x so when Galowglas and Marcus are talking with Vanderslice no Matthew does not suddenly appear in the room.
Now on to the good. This is a wonderful story about Marcus and Phoebe their lives and their coming together. Full of the rich history and creature tales we all have come to love. Matthew and Diana play more of a supporting role and it’s great to see the twins as they grow and change. Would recommend for reading and just brace yourself if you plan to listen.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

What a fun and sweet story
Revisado: 11-12-20
It’s lighthearted, whimsical and relatable. This enjoyable story had me laughing, crying and feeling the jitters of excitement right along with the characters. The performances were well done and This came off more like a radio drama/romance, in a great way. Great cast, great story

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Revisado: 09-07-20
It’s a bit slow to start, but that’s to be expected in an epic like this. By the end of this 1st book there is enough information that you are familiar with the main characters and can imagine how they might fit together. Lots of room for growth and development. Can’t wait to start on book 2!

Not quite Austen, but a wonderful story
Revisado: 08-11-20
While the voice of the author is a little bit different than Jane Austen, the story itself is quite enjoyable and certainly makes you remember the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen‘s novel.
