Historia
In 1981, Jack Welch took over General Electric and quickly rose to fame as the first celebrity CEO. He golfed with presidents, mingled with movie stars, and was idolized for growing GE into the most valuable company in the world. But Welch’s achievements didn’t stem from some greater intelligence or business prowess. Rather, they were the result of a sustained effort to push GE’s stock price ever higher, often at the expense of workers, consumers, and innovation.

quite one sidish and not an amazing read, but very important that that book and message reaches the most people in the world.
Revisado: 03-20-25
im reading a lot about capitalism, socialism, and such, and you have to go through a lot to understand where it goes wrong. The fact this book is having one pivot, makes it super easu to understand how capitalism works. And why it doesnt work well any more. I think this should be teached at school, while the book itself could also be a bit more forgiving, and not focus so much on one side of the coin only.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

i was a bit dissappinted as there is too many pretencious speaches in the book and it forces the objectivism - in your face. So a bit too much.

No country is as misunderstood as North Korea, and no modern tyrant has remained more mysterious than the Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il. Now, celebrity ghostwriter Michael Malice pulls back the curtain to expose the life story of the "Incarnation of Love and Morality". Taken directly from books spirited out of Pyongyang, Dear Reader is a carefully reconstructed first-person account of the man behind the mythology.

one of the most interesting way to tell this amazing story.

great book, even if 50% of this is true. It is surreal and amazing to read that as a diary. Also amazingly consistant through the whole narration.

Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

well done but far from Walter’s best title
Revisado: 10-10-23
As always amazing persona, well written, but a bit too soft on the edges. Too forgiving for my taste and too polished as well. Seem like a lot has been done to make Elon look ,better’. However you can’t take away that subject of that book is a genious.

Historia
Based on thousands of pages from Leonardo's astonishing notebooks and new discoveries about his life and work, Walter Isaacson weaves a narrative that connects his art to his science. He shows how Leonardo's genius was based on skills we can improve in ourselves, such as passionate curiosity, careful observation, and an imagination so playful that it flirted with fantasy.

Historia
If you've wondered how we did not see the economic collapse coming, Ha-Joon Chang knows the answer: We didn't ask what they didn't tell us about capitalism. This is a lighthearted book with a serious purpose: to question the assumptions behind the dogma and sheer hype that the dominant school of neoliberal economists-the apostles of the freemarket-have spun since the Age of Reagan.

It was a privilage to listen to this book
Revisado: 09-07-18
It is amazing how one book can summerize what has gone wrong with a global
economy in the past few decades.
It’s a must read for all the CEOs and CFOs and respective government officials all over the world. And it would be great as a textbook in all highschools all over the globe.
I do not share the opinion of the author that the things can be still turned around as it seems like capitalism is on a downward spiral now. And will end up in revolution. And in spite people like Gates , Buffet or Zukeberg greed is covering the eyes of the remaining 1%.
Yet having said that I strongly believe that building an understanding of that is going on , is the only chance of at least slight improvement.
thank you again for this book.
