not enough stars can be given to this.
Revisado: 10-11-22
Now I'm not really quite a big reviewer of audible properties. But this deserves so many more stars than it could possibly get with the rating system. I mean I enjoyed the 1st 2 that this one was so good and I just can't get enough of it. I watched the Netflix show I liked it but gosh it can't hold a candle to the audible experience. Thank you throws flowers reviews highly all the stars thank you thank you thank you

After unwittingly helping her mother poison King Louis XIV, 17-year-old alchemist Mirabelle Monvoisin is forced to see her mother's Shadow Society in a horrifying new light: They're not heroes of the people, as they've always claimed to be, but murderers. She herself included. Mira tries to ease her guilt by brewing helpful curatives, but her hunger tonics and headache remedies cannot right past wrongs or save the dissenters whom her mother vows to purge.

very meh

could have been a much more interesting book. it was very predictable and had way to many clichés. sad cause it had a lot of potential with the whole fantasy meets history. disappointed.

your really gonna make me read another book?
Revisado: 02-20-22
this book was really really hard to get through. I know it's a fantasy but this plot requires alot of suspension of disbelief. like what a dumb protagonist. she's smart enough to out live a death prison and heal people with herbs but she can't see this very clear plot? I mean she's just dumb. and all the swooning for the prince is so basic and put of character. really not a good book.

Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.
