Zadist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Revisado: 04-09-20
Okay, I just want to start off JR Ward Her books are not the best books, but I can definitely see the appeal to the books. The first two books in my opinion was lacking in sustenance in the fact that a lot of the writing of the characters are focused around the men are supposed to be these Warriors, who are forever lonely protecting their race. If they do find someone it's supposed to be some sort of Journey throughout the book with other side plots as well. I found in the first two books, although I enjoy them and their nice little sex plots for you know- us young ladies out there. The plots of how these warriors got together with their mates weren't really that good. So I was actually going to give up reading this series all together. Until I looked up online about the top couples in the series. So when they mentioned Zadist and Bella As a top couple it made me realize something. This couple has an overwhelming amount of support for as the favorite in the series and I have to say I completely wholeheartedly 100% stand behind that opinion. Zadist background story is so amazingly tragic. You can see the troubles, the sadness, and the problems that he has in his life. They all focused around what has happened to him in his past. And out of the three books that i currently read, only Zadist has a real problem. That makes it hard for him to accept love to accept himself. He is the only one so far in the series that I truly felt for. the fact that he suffered nearly all of his life before he found the Black Dagger Brotherhood and felt he didnt deserve anything but pain. And Bella being somebody who is willing to accept and love him as he is was truly amazing. It covered a very sensitive topic of rape and showing the after effects of it. The pain and torment that Zadist had to go through. He truly was not happy with himself because of what happened to him. It was truly a heart-wrenching part throughout the entire book. I was crying for him. I wanted to comfort him. I wanted to do so many nice things for him strictly because no one else was and then he found Bella I completely respect and love as she truly sees him for him and not once throughout the entire series did she reject them because of his past? As she only wanted to heal him and loved him. But I will say bravo JR Ward for writing a very very complicated character. Who is going through it emotionally, mentally and physically. The fact that Zadist did not have a total hatred toward women is truly astounding. Anybody in their right mind would have become. Conditioned into hating women, but in reality he was a very strong mentally and is a understanding person and he knew his hatred was toward the one that brought his suffering. The fact that he was not comfortable with himself and considered him filthy and dirty because all the things that was done to him truly makes him someone with depth to his character and who needed to learn how to cope with what he went through. When I saw the scenes of him battling with himself to allow himself to love and be with Bella. It was truly remarkable. As he was very very very conflicted with himself because of his past. He believes he does not deserve love even though personally he deserves love the most out of everybody in my opinion and probably the opinion of many of the people who read this series
I was kind of hoping to have some twin on twin bonding action situation happened. But with a tortured soul like zadist that little wet dream could not come true and im glad that it didn't. He becomes happy and a better person to himself and others through Bella.
But of course from what I've noticed with the series so far. It's kind of straight-laced. The one thing I do not like in the series it has nothing to do with this particular book of but in general within the series is the way that the author writes as we all know a lot of the vampires were born in the 1700s or earlier. Meaning that their mentality will be of someone that's of an older generation. yet every single one of them talk like they straight out of New York in late 1990s. I don't like it. Annoys the fuck out of me because it makes me feel like the author has a very small view of the world. But then again, I only read these books for entertainment purposes and in between other serious books I read. So I'm not going to Jump all over the author that much.
I have so much that I want to say about Zadist without spoiling the series but the thing about that it's going to be incredibly hard to not spoil the series by saying anything. So I'm just going to let you know I don't care about spoiler alerts. These books are quite old. So if you haven't read it by now, then that's your problem.
As I stated, I'm not really into the blackdagger brotherhood series. I do hope that the series gets better as I continue to read since the series has over 20 books almost in the book series so I do believe he probably gets better as the sister earlier work and it's lacking in what I prefer in books so I will continue to try on John in the hope that it gets better.
As I stated, I'm not really into Jr. Ward. Black Dagger Brotherhood series As did a lot of stuff in the books that are not very consistent or they're very vague or the plot behind it in the series is not that good as I stated. I almost gave up reading after the second book strictly because I don't enjoy the way that she wrote. but I believe Since she's been writing these books for so long. She's probably gotten better with the Bloodlines and the stories and the past of everything in the story. And I believe she truly began to improve that in book 3 with its Zadist and Bella.
As for me, I'm probably not going to review on every single one of the books as I don't believe I'm going to like every single male warriors story. I'm currently contemplating skipping the fourth book altogether because of butch but because I found out what Butch is via me cheating. I might read his book. Personally for me. These are not my favorites. This is not a book. I would have picked up on my own I decided to read the book since we are in quarantine. So I decided to kind of look for books that I found and they've been sitting in my personal library for a while. I will say that I will most likely buy the physical book of book 3 strictly because of zadist Bella.
I might even get the book that has John Matthew in my series. As I do have a soft spot for characters who are damaged. I highly recommend if you're not going to read the series at least read this particular book with these two characters. Matter of fact read book two because their story kind of starts in book two then it finishes in this one.

A lesson learned is that beauty is not just what is shown on the outside. In this romance taken from the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, Pepper makes you question: "Who is the beauty and who is the beast?" This story contains sexually explicit content and language.

I loved it Christopher is such a sweetheart although I kind of don't like the fact that his face became 100% beautiful as we all know a reality that's not how that works but it's okay since he said he look like Thor I'm good with it. it makes me want to have Christmas baby he was so cute the whole way through!!!!!

nicely done
Revisado: 07-15-19
a nice fillerr book in between more heavily and dense books that I have read! I tthoroughly enjoyed it although I do wish that there was a little bit more world-building one thing I do not appreciate is that we never really truly physically know what Calypso looks like as the author pretty much felt to describe our main character unless it was intentional to make the reader feel as though it's them but it's hard to put a character at face value without details as well as Eli her ex-boyfriend cool to this day I still don't know what he is truly looks like as all they describe Matt is a handsome tall muscular dude the only one who truly gets us description is Desmond.

Revisado: 01-02-19
it was really good! it even gave me a surprise that rarely happens for me. the book though is a little lacking in world development and Dynamics between the characters. but hopefully it gets better in the next book. I do feel like it was slightly rushed in the way everything came to play.and I can't feel as though whether this is more of an adult book or if it's more of a teen book as certain things were suggested as adult like and then changed up to be more childlike. so it's kind of confusing mix between all of that in the lack of world building but I don't feel like I'm a part of the world because they don't really describe the world on a politics of it as much as they should. the book is written as though we should already know the entire world before reading it the voice actor herself wasn't too bad she had the voice of someone that was pretty much still a teen but still in the dollar at the same time there was the only issue I did have was that there was really no variation for the men voices.

Revisado: 06-08-18
this novel has been in my wishlist for a very long time especially on Audible and we since I have recently gotten into audible's lately I decided to buy it as an audible but of course I have been looking at the reviews and the reviews have said one thing consistently the narrator the narrator is horrible cannot pronounce certain words simple English words the narration seems like that's the first time she read the book when she started recording the accent is horrible everything about the narration made you kind of throw yourself out of the book out of the story but of course I took no heat to that since of course everyone has their own way of speaking when I decided to buy it I just assumed it really was because of the accident but once I got into the first chapter I notice how badly how badly the narrator spoke certain letters and certain words having pronounce weirdly because of the accident but then I she's reading it sound so monotone and clipped as though a child is trying to learn words for the first time as speaking but of course I was able to finish the book and at the very end hearing the narrator speak her normal voice she sounds almost like the novel she was not a good choice for the reading I do wish that they remake the audible with a better voice with or without an accent but if you do continue and do decide to buy it Please be aware of all those reviews about the narrator it is bad a 2-star and that's being grateful out of 5
