Historia
Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - derailing the War Between the States and changing the nation forever. In this new America, safety for all depends on the work of a few, and laws like the Native and Negro Education Act require certain children attend combat schools to learn to put down the dead.

A Puzzle
Revisado: 11-02-19
This book is A LOT to digest but worth it. I struggled in the beginning because I had no idea which direction the book was going, and then around chapter 10 it hooked me and I couldn't stop. So hang in there!

Historia
The moment Francesca and Ian met, the attraction was mutual, an exquisitely physical charge that ignited between them. To Ian, she was the kind of woman he couldn't resist. She was a true innocent. To Francesca, he was the kind of man she feared and desired - dark, extreme, commanding, and forbidden. What happened between them couldn't be ignored - only indulged, evolving into an inescapable bond.

The 50 Shades I Actually Wanted
Revisado: 09-24-19
Back when my naive little eyes read 50 Shades, I was drawn to erotica but lusting for decent writing. I wanted a plot - and, imagine!, proper grammar and punctuation.
This book satsifies those desires.
The narrator does a great job with characters and expression. She is lively and compelling. i truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to hear more of their story.

misophonia trigger
Revisado: 09-24-19
I'm not even 1 chapter into this book and I dont think I'm going to be able to make it. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, PENGUIN AUDIO, RE-RECORD THIS WITHOUT A WET-TALKER. The sound of her spit/wetness of her mouth is completely distracting and irritating. I cannot focus on the story because it sends the bad chills down my spine.
Unfortunate.

Historia
Ever since Lucy was two, she’s been on the run alongside her mother. She’s never understood the reason for a lifetime of paranoia, aliases, and lies. All she understands are the rules: never lock eyes with strangers, never let down your guard, and always be ready to move on. Finally, after thirteen years and eleven states, their next hideaway seems perfect. An isolated, fortresslike place in the New Hampshire woods is the new home they share with its owner, a gentlemanly pianist, and his lonely daughter, Gretchen. But Gretchen and her father have secrets of their own.

weird.
Revisado: 08-27-19
This is a weird read. The plot is all over the place. There are a ton of plot holes and ridiculous coincidences. It was a suggestion in a literary group on Facebook and the initial reviewer said it was a weird read, but good.
I'll definitely second "weird". I honestly can't say it was good or not. The meandering plot leaves me with an unsatisfied feeling. I gave the story 2 stars because or that.
Also, IRISES ARE PURPLE. NOT PUPILS. (if you read it, you will understand.)

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Powerful Read.
Revisado: 08-15-19
I was recommended this book through a Facebook group I follow and I was not disappointed.
It is a little slow to start, which I had been warned. Once the characters were established and the plot developed, I couldn't stop listening. The narrator is excellent and serves the characters well.
I cried several times. Some parts are tough - trigger warnings for rape and extreme violence. I had known parts would be hard to listen to/read, however the review in the group had been vague and I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall it was bearable, but I did take a few breaks when it got too intense.
5/5 recommend.
