Historia
Much to Cale's chagrin, Prince Albert has tasked him with traversing a treacherous desert in search of the dark elves. Yet what he discovers in the ill-rumored crimson wasteland is unlike anything he's ever imagined! Later, after a brief respite for a festival back home, he treks onward to the Ten Finger Mountains. Among the peaks, another band of elves is locked in a fierce battle against an all-too-familiar foe. With Ancient Powers, masterful allies, and a mighty dragon on his side, there's no harm in Cale joining the fray—or is there?

As Good As the First Two
Revisado: 04-25-25
This series is still holding strong. It still suffers from a poor translation, a terrible narrator, and another cliffhanger ending but the many, many good aspects are still there as well. Our favorite lout is now more of a scam artist... er, I mean strategic genius now and has pretty much embraced the role that he stumbled into years prior.

Awkward but Good
Revisado: 04-24-25
The bones of this story are really good. Unfortunately, it suffers a bit as an English title due to its translation from Korean and also the terrible narrator. I felt like the main character was given more respect and trust than was truly reasonable. This is, of course, the main gag of the whole series, but what I'm saying is that it felt forced by the author at times more than feeling natural to the story. And as I said, the terrible way this was narrated also made things seem more clumsy than they should have been. All the same, if you stick with it and see passed the rough edges, it's a really captivating story and better executed than many others with this same premise. I will definitely be purchasing the next book in the series immediately.

Historia
I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

Good but Flawed
Revisado: 04-23-25
The author starts out strong and does a good job of making a rather bland and derivative work sound interesting, but eventually things start falling apart when the character is repeatedly handed all the best things in the world and is quickly way too overpowered without any real effort. Sometimes even a Garry Stu character like this can be quite fun if he is written the right way, but this isn't an example of that, I'm afraid. Reading the reviews for the next two books reveals that the author's lack of talent in crafting a credible plot only intensifies so I'll be getting off this train here.
As for the narrator, well, he sounds like a drunk hillbilly but he did a reasonable job despite this handicap.

Simple but Cute
Revisado: 04-22-25
This is far from original and has a very simplistic, childish plot. However, it is pretty sweet and has a nice mood to it, so if you are looking for a time killer in between releases of your favorite series, this one isn't terrible. At least the MC isn't a wimpy, game-addicted loser who hates human interaction. He's actually a pretty steadfast guy and the narrator makes him sound a bit older than I think he probably is, which helps.
Speaking of the narrator, I was very skeptical of him when I first heard him since he sounds more like a construction worker to me, but he quickly grew on me and actually did a good job.
So, overall, it's a bland, simple, derivative story but it has its charms. I would probably listen to any sequels if/when they become available.

Such a Great Story
Revisado: 04-22-25
This was such a great little lighthearted, cute, and funny story. Being a light novel, it has a very anime-like feel to it so as long as you go onto it with that mindset, you are sure to love it. It had a nice feel to it that kept a smile on my face from beginning to end. I would normally add in my negatives to a review so it doesn't sound like a shill wrote it, but I really can't think of a single complaint. Even the translation into English was masterfully done - so much so that I'm not even sure if it wasn't written in English from the start. Even the voice acting was on point. Seriously, this was great. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Excellent
Revisado: 04-21-25
Another excellent volume. I love stories in which the reader keeps seeing the characters in a new light. In this volume, you get to see the driving force behind some of the more despicable characters and afterwards, you might just agree with them on some level. My only small complaint is one I've had since the beginning, and that is the magic mumbo-jumbo seems pretty arbitrary and convoluted at times. It's unique, but still a little annoying to really get behind.

I just Can't Get Into It
Revisado: 04-20-25
I won't say this is bad. I dare say that plenty of people will like it. However, for me, I just can't get into it. I'm probably more than halfway through this and I keep finding myself losing interest and listening to something else for awhile before circling back and giving this another try.
This is probably the fifth time I've quit this book so I think it is time to quit for good. The narrator's performance certainly does not help either. She has her good points but is completely unsuitable for this book. Her basic narration is fine but holy hell her character voices are dreadful. Every male sounds like a brain dead thug, and every female sounds like a vaguely Southern vixen. I think I would like this about 25% more had I just read it. Even still, the main character is not quite... right? I don't know. I just can't get exited about anything she does or the reasons behind it. Everyone in this book could die and I would not care a bit and would just go on to something else. Also, super heroes and super villains are pretty lame, so that doesn't help. I guess if you are into that type of stuff, though, then you might like this book. I will say that it is still a thousand times better that the Empress series.

Historia
Hi there! I'm Magical Girl Crystal Genocide, one of the twelve magical girls, and sworn protectors of Earth! We were like a superhero squad, but with more sparkles! We fought day and night to keep the baddies at bay and the Earth safe. But, one day, our best wasn't good enough. So, we huddled up for a superhero brainstorm and decided to pool our powers for this mega, super-duper save-the-day plan. We kinda goofed. Big time. Instead of saving the day, we accidentally wiped out a quarter of the Milky Way.

Creative and Fun
Revisado: 04-17-25
I always like the way RavensDagger can put a unique spin on a story. A nearly unstoppable magical girl in a typical fantasy world is one of them. The plot has multiple layers to it, which adds some mystery to the mix. Crystal Genocide is a cute and fun character, and the side characters were not bad either. There are sporadic chapters pertaining to Rending Nightmare's origin interspersed throughout the book, and while they were OK, I found myself much less interested in them compared to the main story despite them being tangentially relevant. The book ended neatly and set up the next book and the rest of the series perfectly. Also, the narration had a whole cast of talent, so A+ for that. I appreciate the extra expense and work that went into that and it really adds to the experience. I'm looking forward to more... hopefully it will be soon.

Nope
Revisado: 04-16-25
The writing is extremely boring and obviously written by a teen gamer nerd for other teen gamer nerds, which might be fine but he just has no talent for it at all. The premise of the book seems interesting, but since the author can't do anything with it, I'm quitting this with seven hours remaining. Hopefully I can get my money back.

Everyone Misunderstands Everyone Else
Revisado: 04-16-25
This one was pretty funny. Pretty much every character in this episode was pulling an Ainz. No one understands what is going on but pretends they do, all while sweating bullets. There are two "big" fights in this one that felt a little nerfed, but I guess they were ok.
