great story and great performance!!

I heard about this book on the Today show and was intrigued by the story. I really had no idea on what to expect and ended up really enjoying the book. Any story about Indian culture has to include the patriarchal and caste system of India, however this book did it in such a way as not to become the main focus of the book. it highlighted in a such a touching and funny, at times, way of friendship and sisterhood. And the narrator was absolutely spectacular! I would highly recommend.

really fun listen!

really entertaining audiobook -- especially the comical and twisted take on fairy tale characters. I loved all three protagonists and how they interacted. even tho they were always on some quest, the author was still able to give their background story as they made their way thru each one of their "jobs."

the narration was well done and easy to listen to and the stories were very entertaining. would definitely recommend!

I really enjoy the book even more when the author reads it. they know exactly where to put emphasis in the dialog and timing of dialog. this was just excellent... and so many characters and accents. it was very enjoyable.

insightful story about women

I really liked the book and how insightful the author was about the real life conflicts women have in their relationships, careers and family. I found myself saying, "that's it exactly..." to many of the situations in the story. and then there was a murder mystery woven into the story as well... at times I did lose the story when it jumped forward and back in time, but the author got you back on track. I thought the narrator did a great job. she created enough differences in voices, but wasn't over the top with voices, which I find can be quite distracting. I especially liked the authors part at the end of the book where she talked about her personal challenges in her life and how she came about writing this book. I would definitely recommend.

Rosario dawson was an amazing narrator! she had quite a few characters to voice and did a great job. the story was fun to listen to and kept me interested all the way to the end. would definitely recommend!

selected this book from audible editors recommendation and was not disappointed. the story was engaging and the characters were so well developed. and the narrator was spectacular!! I highly recommend!!
