Historia
In 2011, a 26-year-old libertarian programmer named Ross Ulbricht launched the ultimate free market: the Silk Road, a clandestine website hosted on the Dark Web where anyone could trade anything - drugs, hacking software, forged passports, counterfeit cash, poisons - free of the government's watchful eye. It wasn't long before the media got wind of the new website where anyone - not just teenagers and weed dealers but terrorists and black hat hackers - could buy and sell contraband detection-free.

Historia
After a decade-long addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol, Charlie Engle hit bottom with a near-fatal six-day binge that ended in a hail of bullets. As Engle got sober, he turned to running, which became his lifeline, his pastime, and his salvation. He began with marathons, and when marathons weren't far enough he began to take on ultramarathons, races that went for 35, 50, and sometimes hundreds of miles, traveling to some of the most unforgiving places on earth to race.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 07-06-17
If you could sum up Running Man in three words, what would they be?
Keep Running Charlie
What did you like best about this story?
I didn't know who Charlie Engle was or much about the world of running. What makes Charlie's life interesting is that he's experienced his share of twists and turns. From drug addict to ultra marathoner to doing jail time, it's really the story of an ordinary guy who has been able to do extraordinary things
What about Charlie Engle’s performance did you like?
Simple and direct.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Charlie's moment in jail is an inspiring testimony to his persistence.
Any additional comments?
The ending could have been better! It just kinda went into the acknowledgements.

Really & Truly Boring
Revisado: 09-21-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Hard to say. The story was pretty dry.
What was most disappointing about Steve Martin’s story?
His life doesn't reflect the zaniness of his work. While I get that, his life actually sounded quite boring outside of his career and rather unremarkable.
How could the performance have been better?
He sounds very unenthusiastic and flat.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Born Standing Up?
hard to say
Any additional comments?
Watch his movies, but avoid this book.

Vital Information but Matt needs a better mike!
Revisado: 04-14-16
What made the experience of listening to Ready, Set...PROCRASTINATE! the most enjoyable?
Practical advice for the diehard procrastinators
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was just ok, but the voiceover artiste Matt should really get a better microphone and room to record in. The recording sounded echoey and a little on the less professional side, which was a shame.

What did you love best about The Elephant to Hollywood?
I first read Michael Caine's biography What's It All About? which tracks Caine's upbringing from the working class to Hollywood. That was quite a while ago, and I was glad to update myself with his spoken version. And who better to tell Michael Caine's story than Michael Caine? It's a long story but he's had an amazingly long career - it's personal enough and a testament to his determination to make it in spite of the odds. Mostly enjoyable. You can't fault the non-events that are inevitable in an autobiography like this....PS I'm going to miss Sir Michael Caine when he's gone. They don't make stars like him anymore.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There is only one leading man here.

Potent Subject - But Maybe Not the Best Execution
Revisado: 08-20-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I can understand the negative reviews of this audiobook / lecture. Caroline Myss does meander here and there and I lose her train of thought now and then. It's apparent that Caroline knows what she wants to say but something is left out. I think this could have been edited a bit for repetition. Caroline pulls no punches in this one - it's hard and almost confrontational, underscoring the urgency of her message. She starts strong - meanders - and ends strong. This is the voice of someone who is concerned about the state of humankind and it shows. I felt this in my gut.
What was one of the most memorable moments of What Makes Us Healthy??
It's all about the truth and being true to ourselves...hover over me God.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Caroline Myss?
Of course. But would be good to figure out how to differentiate one book from another! There are similar themes.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Caroline is one of the most passionate speakers there is.

Historia
Fifteen years after his number one New York Times best seller, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind, Deepak Chopra revisits "the forgotten miracle" – the body's infinite capacity for change and renewal. You cannot take advantage of this miracle, Chopra says, unless you are willing to completely reinvent your body, transforming it from a material object to a dynamic, flowing process. "Your physical body is a fiction," Chopra contends. Every cell is made up of two invisible ingredients: awareness and energy.
