Historia
He was a duke in disguise. Hiding the truth of his title and wealth to help a friend. Pretending to be nothing more than an itinerant laborer. The last thing he anticipated was saving a comely lass. But then, life has a way of working out. Especially for a duke of the realm. The woman found him special, despite his supposed common status. For the first time in his life, someone saw the true man, not his title. What would she do if she learned the truth? A fate he was unwilling to risk.

Enjoyable story, narration ok
Revisado: 07-25-20
G.L. Snodgrass writes stories that sweep you along, making you want to read more. This particular story started sweetly, with love blooming between a farm girl and a laborer. The characters and storyline are well-developed. Very enjoyable read.
The narration was smooth, but was lacking in that I didn’t care for the inflection and some of the British words were mispronounced. Still an ok listen, though I would have preferred a different narrator.
Read the book and you will enjoy this story.

The series is getting better as is goes along
Revisado: 10-21-19
I enjoyed this book the most out of all the Whispering Pines series so far. Meeting up with the villagers again makes me feel like I’m settling in with a latte and catching up with friends. Very interesting and eclectic friends! Every book reveals more about the ups and downs of the villagers’ lives, and how past hurts come back to haunt them. Sheriff Jayne O’Shea is again on the case to solve a murder! As always, Shawn McGuire does a nice job with the narration. A fun listen all around.

Scary look at what the future could hold
Revisado: 10-21-19
This was a surprisingly good listen. I didn’t really know what to expect, but was immediately drawn into the story. Remote hideouts, experiments in the desert, lots of action and plot twists. Great narration by Andrew B. Wehrlen and good story by Mitty Walters. What might be accomplished with money and technology, and the mystery of how far humans will push limits, is wondrous and also scary. This story is fiction, but how much of it may one day come to pass in the real world. Thoughtful story and a great listen.

Sweet western romance
Revisado: 10-21-19
Barbara Goss wrote a sweet love story. The historical setting and characters felt real, and the shady land dealings of the few crooked townspeople had me rooting for good to triumph in the end. Enough action and adventure to carry the story along to the end.
The one drawback being the narrator, while he did a fine job, had a voice that was too old for the young main characters.

Heart and heat
Revisado: 10-21-19
An unexpectedly different storyline and take than the typical regency romance. I enjoyed the strong female characters and way the relationship developed between Clare and Edward. Hot sex scenes as well. Darcy Stark did a marvelous job with the narrations, bringing Victoria Vale’s story to life. An enjoyable listen all around.

All-around great regency romance
Revisado: 07-17-19
I liked the storyline with the two main characters often at odds and trying to fight their attraction to each other. The humor Claudia Stone wrote in made it a fun listen. It is rare to have a book with more than one narrator, and the Duke and Duchess DeFoix did an nice job with the narration and there was a seamless audio production changing between male and female voices. I would read another Claudia Stone book.

Cindy York is back again, trying to sell a house that is tainted by tragedy. I've listened to all three books in the series and like the recurring characters and sometimes humorous situations that Catherine Bruns writes into the stories. Amy Deuchler does a great job with the narration.
Looking forward to finding out what happens in the continuing tale of Cindy York.

Intriguing story and a great listen
Revisado: 07-17-19
Love, loss, drama, and the good and bad of human nature rolled into the story. This book drew me in with not only the main characters but also all the other characters woven in that all had a part to play in the outcome of the story. I liked the forest setting, which was different than other books I've read about Nazi occupation. I was pleasantly surprised by this audiobook, for the well-written characters and storyline Imogen Matthews crafted, and also for the great job that Liam Gerrard did with the narration.

When his father, the sheriff, is murdered, Trent is asked to fulfill the remaining months of his term in office. Sheriff Bobby Trent; nobody would have guessed it, but it should be an easy enough task; drink a little coffee, maybe lead a parade. Easy work until he is healthy enough to return to the circuit.

Big Country, Big Story
Revisado: 05-25-19
I tend to think that old west style justice doesn't exist in the present day, but in Montana's Big Sky Country there's quite a lot of the old west still alive. I started listening to this book, then decided I needed to get book one and listen to the series in order. Both books were great, and in Snow Blind it is enjoyable to experience Bobby's unconventional methods for dealing with crimes that occur in his county. With very few sheriffs, there's a lot of wild country to cover that provides solitude, harshness, beauty, and out of the way places to hide bodies.
The characters and storyline are well-done and Paul McSorley does a great job with the narration. I'm looking forward to more of the series with Sheriff Bobby Trent and the cast of characters in the Big Sky series.

Great story, great narration
Revisado: 05-25-19
Maeve Greyson wrote a compelling tale and Curt Bonnem did a fantastic job narrating. I enjoyed all the characters and storyline, and the humor woven in. There are comical descriptions of what it might be like to come from a millennium ago and freshly experience the 21st century - this aspect of the book was special and fun. The strong female characters are also appreciated, and the way Curt Bonnem portrayed them made them even more vibrant. Can Emma and Torin's love survive when they come from different worlds? Will they defeat evil? Listen and you will find out...
I am now a fan of Maeve Greyson and Curt Bonnem.
