I could not get enough of “Minka’s” story. So vivid and emotional. Great story line. It all adds up at the end.

Historia
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Sad
Revisado: 10-17-24
I found this to be a very sad story for Lisa. Here she is larger than life due to her father’s fame, but she really never felt like she fit into the picture. Riley’s reading noted the immense importance of love that Lisa showered her children with. The sense of normalcy in a chaotic world she was brought into. The death of her son is something I really can relate to. As I fit into shoes all too well. Unless you experience it. You’ll never know the depth of it. It also help me understand what I am going through, other people feel that way too. It seems she conquered her demons, but in the end they conquered her due to overall health issues addiction leaves behind.
I praise the efforts of putting her story out there. When so much was left to the medias speculations. I praise Riley for honoring her mother. Her Queen. Danny Keough was the strength and honesty she needed in life besides her children. She sounded like she was down to earth. But the left over baggage of her father’s fame continued to haunt her. I think she was probably pretty magical 🧚🏻♀️

Hope doesn’t always make it better or get us what we think we want.
This is pure truth about real life for a lot of real people.

Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

I must admit I had difficulty getting into the story. I adjusted the speed on the vocals and wow! (It was the thick Australian accent) Great vivid story with each character walking in front of you as the story is played out. Loved it!

Great read. Great story line and characters. I couldn’t get enough. It hurts when someone you love more than anything leaves this world and you’re stuck with so many unanswered questions. Until another place. Another time.

Excellent
Revisado: 08-28-24
Excellent narration. Loved the story though at times graphic and painful to the truth in our world. The one line that kept coming back was “I don’t trust anyone, except ………” You just never know the real truth about someone until one day it erupts.
And everyone can, even thought their “different “.

"Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned"...So say the publishers about this audiobook I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it. It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii, and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.
