Historia
When historian Jaya Jones receives a mysterious package containing a jewel-encrusted artifact, she discovers the secrets of a lost Indian treasure may be hidden in a Scottish legend. But she's not the only one on the trail. Helping her decipher the cryptic clues are her magician best friend, a devastatingly handsome art historian with something to hide, and a charming archaeologist running for his life. When a member of the dig's crew is murdered, Jaya must figure out which of the scholars vying for her affections might be the love of her life - and which one is a killer.

insipid heroine
Revisado: 03-29-25
The plot was interesting but the heroine of the story was insipid slightly dumb and overly emotional in her actions. it was hard to really care about her. although the plot was interesting.

Historia
Lord Rosemorran has purchased a wax figure of a beautiful reclining woman and asks Stoker to incorporate a clockwork mechanism to give the Rosemorran Collection its own Sleeping Beauty in the style of Madame Tussaud’s. But when Stoker goes to cut the mannequin open to insert the mechanism, he makes a gruesome discovery: this is no wax figure. The mannequin is the beautifully preserved body of a young woman who was once very much alive. But who would do such a dreadful thing, and why?

Historia
1784 London. Miss Tiffany Woodall didn’t murder her half-brother, but she did bury him in the back garden so that she could keep her cottage. Now, the confirmed spinster has to pretend to be Uriah and fulfill his duties as the Duke of Beaufort’s librarian while searching Astwell Palace for Uriah’s missing diamond pin, the only thing of value they own. Her ruse is almost up when she is discovered by Mr. Samir Lathrop, the local bookseller, who tries to save her from drowning while she's actually just washing up in a lake after burying her brother.

slow witted heroine
Revisado: 02-25-25
I can't believe I paid money for this book. I mean, I figured out the means of the murder and who did it within the first six or seven chapters and the heroine was so girly and totally uninteresting. The premise had a lot of promise but oh my goodness. I force myself to listen to it because I paid money for it but I hated it. I skipped a lot of chapters to be honest

Way too mushy

The story was good, if you could have just get past all the moaning and longing between the heroine and the hero. just unnecessary and totally distracting

Historia
For Emily, accepting the proposal of Philip, the viscount Ashton, was an easy way to escape her overbearing mother, who was set on a grand society match. So when Emily's dashing husband died on safari soon after their wedding, she felt little grief. After all, she barely knew him. Now, nearly two years later, she discovers that Philip was a far different man from the one she had married so cavalierly.

insipid heroine
Revisado: 02-03-25
The narration was quite good but the story dragged on and on and on. I made myself listen to the whole thing, but the heroine was so insipid and not all that bright. it was quite a disappointment considering that there are many more adventures of this woman to which I will not listen.
