Historia
Pope Benedict XVI affirmed the ongoing growth and perpetual validity of the Traditional Latin Mass, insisting that "what earlier generations held as sacred remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden, or even considered harmful". However, with the 2021 release of Traditionis Custodes, his successor has declared the opposite.

Historia
In his latest book, Dr. Peter Kwasniewski argues that ever since the new liturgical books following the Second Vatican Council came into force, Roman Catholic faithful have suffered the effects of a hasty and far-reaching reform permeated with nominalism, voluntarism, Protestantism, rationalism, antiquarianism, hyperpapalism, and other modern errors. Man is not master over divine liturgy, Dr. Kwasniewski emphasizes; rather, all of us are called to be stewards of the sacred, from the lowest-ranking layman to the pope himself.

Essential read for any Catholic
Revisado: 02-04-23
Peter K’s work is an essential read for any catholic whether they attend a Latin Mass or the New Mass. Peter’s work is well balanced. His grace and strength is revealed in his capacity to powerfully insist on the integral place of the ancient Roman Rite in Catholic worship while remaining charitable and respectful to our Holy Fathers Popes Benedict XVI and JPII. Peter rejects hyper-trad antiquarianism while also rejecting the hyper-papalist tinkering with the liturgy as if it is the play thing of popes instead of the treasure of the whole Church future, past, and present. He is able to maintain this balance by locating genuine catholic principles expounded especially by St. Vincent of Lerins et al. which protect from papal rule-by-command or a rigid and lifeless antiquarianism. Such a principle is present in Pope Benedict XVI’s Summorum Pontificum when he clearly taught the catholic doctrine that what was once held sacred cannot be considered harmful or entirely done away and further insisting that the ancient Roman Rite was never abolished and that priests in principle do not need permission to celebrate it. If you’re catholic you must read this book to fully appreciate our present situation in the church and how we navigate through it.

The new, impeccable translation and adaptation of the Epic of Persian Kings by Ahmad Sadri brought to life a host of heroic characters and wove their adventures into a thrilling story spanning thousands of years. Containing four grand tragedies and four beautiful love stories, the audiobook is currently going into its fifth edition. It has been a smashing success. We are delighted to present a 12-hour audio experience of this text (performed by the award-winning voice actor, Marc Thompson) against the backdrop of evocative sound design and music editing of Hamid Rahmanian the creator of the Shahnameh project.

Does not include the quasi-historical part
Revisado: 01-14-22
Great audio book. Well done. Fun to listen to. Great story. Very much in the epic tradition. Very symbolic/ mythological. However, it does not include the quasi-historical portion of the Shahnameh that discusses figures like Sikandar (Alexander the Great). The audio book ends with the destruction of Rostam's legacy which is essentially the end of the legendary third of the epic. I have heard the epic broken down into three parts, the mythological (details the beginning and the first kings), the legendary part (mostly dominated by the story of Rostam). And the quasi-historical section deals with historical figures like Alexander the Great (Sekandar) in a mythological sort of way.

Pretty Solid Excellent Performance
Revisado: 02-27-21
Chapter 23 starts the unabridged version of Henry V. Chapter 1 starts the play with commentary interrupting from time to time. Both are great. The commentary can sometimes be just a restating which feels like a waste of time and at other times the commentary is her own opinion, which I didn't always agree with, but the factual information is still there and is solid.

Historia
From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

This will be placed on my list of the best works I’ve ever read. It won’t be for everyone. I can’t imagine anyone who values the spiritual reading this and leaving empty handed.
