Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

No celebrity makes me happier than Matthew McConaughey. Reminds me of my uncles. Dude is wild and entertaining. His voice, his attitude, his sly witty personality - I had to listen to him tell his story, even more interesting than I’d thought. He’s pretty inspiring and uplifting with depth.

Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

Already love her podcasts, was super excited to listen to her book. It didn’t disappoint and maybe if you don’t already know her from true crime you might not be predisposed to rooting for her to nail it throughout the book but I was and she did. Loved it.

Historia
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Wow
Revisado: 10-15-19
So I picked this on a whim on the 2 for 1 sale and I’m soooo glad I did. This book kind of has it all - a little suspense, drama, hints of mystery/thriller, romance, lots of humor. At times it’s too real and dark and at times you’ll suddenly laugh and shoot soda through your nose. The narrator does a great job conveying the authors little quips.
Loved it and am about to go find another from this author.

Many feels
Revisado: 08-18-19
This one had a lot going on and made it all the better. I rarely cry and a few parts had me tearing up. It’s sweet, a little spicy at times and a little funny. I will say that for a while there, I really wanted to punch Vanessa for being an idiot but I’m sure that’s what the author was going for. I feel like I just read 5 books, seriously a lot going on in here.

Seriously, this is just as good as any hallmark Christmas movie I’ve ever seen but better because you’re already invested in this town and it’s people. Plus the singing was sweet.

Getting better
Revisado: 08-15-19
I liked book 1 but I liked book 2 more, it was more complex and deep. I could relate better to the issues Mel dealt with but Paige’s story was just more captivating. This reminds me of some of the better Nora Roberts books I love. Slightly steamier than book 1 as well. I hope 3 is better yet. The thing I like about this series so far is that the characters you’ve already gotten to know don’t just make small appearances in the next story like so many series out there, the author still weaves them in so well that you are just continuing in their journey along with the new characters. I’m fully invested in this small mountain town Robyn Carr has dreamed up.

Cast Away aftermath done right
Revisado: 08-12-19
Way back in the day when I watched cast away and was angry that Helen Hunt chose her current life over Tom Hanks when he returned home... I was left wanting them to be together again or at the very least delve deeper into trying than just a heated kiss in a garage. How unfair to Tom Hanks was that?! I suspect my young teenage self wasn’t picking up on the subtleties and implications that her entire life had changed and she had kids so she couldn’t just revert back to their old life. Either way, it made me not like the movie much.
This story satisfied all the longing for resolution I had leftover from that film. It was a little slow at times and lacked impact during sex scenes - imo (if you’re going to make a point of how earth shattering and amazing sex is, subtle and prudish isn’t the way to convey that message). If you don’t want to get into it, don’t start the reader down that path. Also, her being grossed out by sex on a kitchen counter to the point of whining about multiple times made me roll my eyes. Why am I complaining about a book I actually liked anyways...?
The narrator was great, as usual.

Historia
I can feel it. I wake up in the middle of the night freaked out of my mind, paranoid a stranger is there. My skin prickles every time I leave my house, because I know someone is following me. I’m afraid. Alone. And there’s only one person left to turn to. The stepbrother I never met. He’s the president of a notorious motorcycle club and exactly the kind of person I need to protect me - cutthroat, cocky, dangerous. Little did I know, hot as all holy hell Ky Parish, downright loathes me. You know what they say - there's a fine line between love and hate. And I'm walking it.

Good afternoon listen
Revisado: 08-12-19
I liked the book and the way the story unfolded. There were some aspects that felt rushed, they were supposed to dislike one another... then in less than a chapter, they suddenly are together and in seemingly love. I had whiplash, wondering if I skipped a chapter or ten somehow. Otherwise it was great. The female narrator is good and I’ve listened to her a lot but she has this slightly tortured voice thing going for her and it occasionally annoys. I’m really loving M. Never books since I read ghostface killer a while back.

His interest in her was purely professional...or so he told himself. Nash Kirkland had sought out Morgana Donovan, self-proclaimed witch, to help him research his latest screenplay. The hardheaded skeptic didn't believe for a minute she was what she professed to be, but Nash somehow found himself falling under her bewitching spell. Nash had never trusted his feelings. How could he be sure the irresistible passion he felt was real and not just some conjurer's trick?

Historia
Gannon King is great with his hands and - if you believe what you read on Twitter - he's "sex in a toolbelt." The reality TV star learned his lesson about falling for pretty packages the hard, painful, humiliating way and he's not making that mistake again. Sure, "Legs" is gorgeous as hell and smart-mouthed - two of his favorite qualities in a woman. But she's an icy network kiss-ass. At least, that's what he thinks until he catches her being human. Field producer Paige St. James has zero time for temperamental stars, especially Gannon who does his best to get under her skin.

Hard to rate
Revisado: 08-07-19
I loved the book but I somewhat disliked the female lead. How can a smart independent woman be so dumb and stubborn? I understand why Lucy Score wrote her that way, to add the drama and conflict but she went a little too far with the main issue and it became an annoyance for me that was distracting. I think adding on a new source of conflict to the mix of drama in their lives would’ve made it more captivating than dragging it out on the main issue. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story and still wish more Lucy Score was on audible.
