Historia
Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. When Lydia’s husband’s tell-all profile of Javier, the jefe of the newest drug cartel that has gruesomely taken over the city, is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

Historia
The Other End of the Leash shares a revolutionary new perspective on our relationship with dogs, focusing on our behavior in comparison with that of dogs. An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell looks at humans as just another interesting species, and muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in them.

I learned a lot about dog behaviors
Revisado: 01-01-21
I enjoyed every minute of this book, and I plan to read more by Patricia McConnell. She gives great explanations of dog behaviors, using her own dogs as examples.
The narrator has a friendly sounding yet confident voice. She sounds so convincing that it’s hard to remember she is not the author.
For a serious dog lover this is informative and heartwarming at the same time.

Historia
This wasn’t the plan. Judge Herman Calvert, 88, never thought he’d outlive his beloved wife, Marie. Yet now he finds himself alone, a grieving widower, desperate for escape from the home they built together, where every turn brings a painful reminder of his late wife. So the judge retreats to his lake cabin in rural Wisconsin, a place where an old man can find peace and solitude. A place where nature can take its course. But something new has moved in.

Predictable story. Excellent narration by Kevin Bacon
Revisado: 11-08-20
The story jumps right into action. This I liked; but then it seemed to take forever for the main character to realize what was happening to him.
I enjoyed Kevin Bacon as the narrator. I hope to hear more of him in the future.

Not my favorite in the series
Revisado: 08-08-20
Slow unfolding of detective cases. Too many characters with similar/ same names
I will continue with the series and hope the next colitis better.
As always, lisette lecat is an outstanding narrator. I could listen to her reading the phone book!

My new favorite in the series
Revisado: 06-21-20
This volume 12 in the series is great for developing the characters of the mechanical apprentices Charlie and Falwell. In spite of the daily foibles, the ladies solve some interesting cases.
The narrator is outstanding. Sometimes I forgot it was one person doing the voices- they all are a bit different and recognizable.
