Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Excellent
Revisado: 02-13-20
It's Neil Gaiman. That's really all that needs to be said. But the review requires more words so here: it's an excellent retelling of the Nordic Myths.

Thoroughly Enjoyable
Revisado: 12-21-18
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. I found myself laughing far more than expected. Already bought the next book in the series, while praying that I don't gave to wait 10 years for the story to be completed.

Historia
Sebastian Orwell did the only thing a smart wizard could do when he stumbled upon the wounded Crown Prince: He healed him and dumped him in a tavern where he could continue not being Sebastian's problem. Unfortunately, the prince isn't content with being alive, and he hunts Sebastian down to thank him personally. Not only is Sebastian stuck with the prince's unwanted affections, but he's also confronted by growing evidence linking the assassination attempt to someone from his father's past.

One of My Favorites
Revisado: 01-25-18
I have now listened to this boom three times. I love each and every one of the characters. Sebastian's reluctance for adventures and generally grumpiness at being dragged into them always makes me laugh.
The story is well written and complex but lighthearted enough to read over and over again. It has become my go-to story whenever I need a pick me up.

A heart wrenching but great story. Always wondered what the Grey Wardens were like with their Griffins and 'Last Flight' gave me the chance to see them in action.

Always An Enjoyable Experience
Revisado: 01-20-17
As usual this has been a truly enjoyable experience; from the story to the narration.
Jumping from Griffin to Whyborne was at first tricky to keep up with but it was worth the effort to get a glimpse into each of their thoughts.
Looking forward to the next one.

Keeps Getting Better
Revisado: 10-11-16
There have been noticeable improvements in the story, narration, and quality of the audio sin e the first in this series, Widdershins. I'm very pleased that I chose to stick with it, despite the rough start with the audio quality in the first book. I've only grown to love the characters more and more and I truly enjoy the enthusiasm Julian G. Simmons brings to the story.
