I love Elin's men of the North series so thought i would like this one. However, im not sure if this was meant to be a "storytime" book or not, but it felt like that. The narrator did fine, it merely felt like i was being told a bedtime story (the once upon a time type) rather than being engaged with the characters. Sorry.

I knew this one would be a tear jerker and it did not disappoint. You know how some series can drag or be same-ol? I think this was the best book of the series.

Agree with the others, not part of the series

Hated narrator.
Not Christmas.
Different ambiance.
Not fun.

Like other reviews, this was not really a continuation, more of a side story. Disappointed in the plot line for these two. Built their love story up in the last couple books, and then this one did not do the rest justice. Sorry Miss Laurens, but this one missed the mark for me. The narrator did not help.

Great Narration

Like that the whole crew was together in this one. Lots of twists and turns. Tracie is still the bada$$.

Book 2, different group.

Thrown off a little at first. Picked up where 1st series left off in timeline, but with a different group of people. I didn't connect to these characters as well, but it was ok. The characters merged towards the end. Still going to get the last series.

it's kind of a typical emp survivor book with no zombies. i did enjoy the overall story. Madison had me cringing at her nicey-nice attitude, but seems to come around at the end. Bought on a sale to try it. Now gonna use a credit for the next in the series.

So I never would have bought this book. Totally not my style. It was in the plus catalog and popped up in my feed. I gave it 10 minutes, and then it was 2 hours later...

Couldn't finish it

Started and stopped this book several times. Made it about half way through. Story seemed to drag in spots. Wondering if this is an old book re-released? Some of the sayings are outdated. "Drove the car full tilt." I'm old enough to know what it means and young enough to think the phrase doesn't fit anymore. Could not connect with the characters.

Grrrr Cliffhanger!

Bought this on the $5 sale. I've read one other of her books and like it and was looking for a new series so decided to give this a try. I'm so glad the next book is out already cuz now I've got to use a credit to see what happened!

This storyline was super cute. I really like most of Shanna Swenson's books, especially her enchanted inc series. I was afraid this one was going to be too similar to those but was delightfully surprised at the difference while still being entertaining and magical!
