Historia
Liz McGinnis never imagined herself living in a luxurious gated community like The Palms. Ever since she and her family moved in, she's felt like an outsider amongst the Stepford-like wives and their obnoxiously spoiled children. Still, she's determined to make it work - if not for herself, then for her husband, Phil, who landed them this lavish home in the first place, and for her daughter, Danielle, who's about to enter high school.

Fantastic, but...
Revisado: 06-28-18
There were a few part that, for me, didn't add to the story; instead, they pulled me away from the growing anticipation I felt with the main story. Also, the ending seemed abrupt. I love endings that don't drone, but there were still a few things I wanted to see resolved. All personal preference, mind you. The writing is lovely and vivid. I couldn't get enough of the main story. And the voice actors: jeez they were perfect for this!

Rich and vivid story
Revisado: 03-14-17
Which scene was your favorite?
The opening sequence was my favorite. The world was a painting, and I couldn't get enough.
Any additional comments?
If you like any kind of sci-fi or fantasy books, then you'll love this. Its characters are rich and developed, and the story is solid and so enjoyable. The pacing and tension fit so well with the world Jessie Kwak created. I felt as though I was there, breathing with the characters and living their lives along with them.

Pretty good.
Revisado: 06-16-16
I enjoyed the story, though the thief's identity was all too obvious. My reason for giving it 3 stars is the speed at which we learned everything. Melissa Marr's writing doesn't usually feel that stunted. I wanted more sensory details, rich dialogue, emotions.
Overall though, it was a quick listen, worth the hour.
