In the aftermath of 9/11, Kevin Hazzard felt that something was missing from his life - his days were too safe, too routine. A failed salesman turned local reporter, he wanted to test himself, see how he might respond to pressure and danger. He signed up for emergency medical training and became, at age 26, a newly minted EMT running calls in the worst sections of Atlanta. As a new EMT, I'm glad I came across this piece. Mr.Hazzard has remarkably captured the essence of all the green sensations that run through the mind and body of a new EMT. Needless to say, throughout this entire piece I've felt like he's been the admirable veteran medic I've been assigned to that has made it his duty to teach me the ropes, so good that I might double Dutch with them one day. Thanks so much Mr.Hazzard for sharing your journey.

This book has plenty of great information for the aspiring EMS professional, however it would've been a little more helpful if the information was sectioned according to scope of practice.
