Historia
The inside look at how the battle of the space billionaires began and why it matters, Escaping Gravity is former NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver’s firsthand account of how a handful of revolutionaries outmaneuvered the system of political patronage and bureaucracy that threatened the space agency. The success of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin, Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, and countless other commercial space efforts were preceded by decades of work by a group of people Garver calls “space pirates.”

The struggle between entrenched ways and new ideas
Revisado: 09-18-22
Well read by the author and very engaging. The story of her career also covers the changes to how we get to space and her drive to see that happen. We'll worth the time.

Historia
From personal experiences in his ministry through comedy, Brad Stine has chosen 11 concepts to consider as a Christian. Are they really true, or do we just believe them to be credible - even though there's no biblical support for them? More importantly, how does the belief in their veracity affect non-believers if we're wrong? Brad has carefully considered these ideas, as well as lived many of them.

As a non American I struggled with the connection between my faith and Conservative politics, but I did love that it made me think about my own views while laughing along

The missing link to long-term Lean success! Despite the fact that companies worldwide have adopted Lean production, none has sustained the same levels of excellence as Toyota. Why? Leadership. In The Toyota Way to Lean Leadership, Jeffrey Liker and Gary L. Convis, a former executive V.P. and managing officer of Toyota, help executives and senior managers get employees to refocus their efforts - from simply performing their singular function to continuously improving in collaboration across the organization.

requires you to listen and think
Revisado: 04-15-21
This is the story of the Toyota Way from an insiders perspective. The underlying thinking that sets it apart from the "quick fix" merchants and why Toyota has proven successful over a very long time. The delivery is interesting and really digs into the way of thinking and how it plays out in the real world. It also makes it very clear that doing a copy/paste of Toyota will fail. you need to build your systems based around rules and concepts, adapting them to your company needs
