Historia
For months I stood in the wings, an understudy waiting for my time to shine. I never imagined he would be in the audience that night. Canon Holt. Famous film director. Talented. Fine. Before I could catch my breath, everything changed. I went from backstage Broadway to center stage Hollywood. From being unknown, to my name, Neevah Saint, on everyone's lips when Canon casts me in a star-studded Harlem Renaissance biopic. But stars shine brightest in the dead of night. Forbidden attraction, scandal and circumstances beyond my control jeopardize my dream.

Revisado: 05-01-25
Everyone has that favorite movie that they have seen many times and will never get tired of it. Well this book definitely did it for me omg I love Cannon!! He is the real deal!! Thank God I have a real life Cannon. I am a nurse and was a transplant nurse for 11 years and this book had me crying laughing crying but definitely believing in them. SLE is definitely real and the awareness Kennedy poured into this book was so on point. I have read twice and will listen again this week.

Historia
It’s a hot and sticky Sunday in Lafayette, Louisiana, and Glory has settled into her usual after-church routine, meeting gamblers at the local coffee shop, where she works as a small-time bookie. Sitting at her corner table, Glory hears that her best friend—a nun beloved by the community—has been found dead in her apartment. When the police declare the mysterious death a suicide, Glory is convinced that there must be more to the story and, with her reluctant daughter in tow, launches a shadow investigation in a town of oil tycoons, church gossips, and a rumored voodoo priestess.

Glory B!!!!!!
Revisado: 03-17-25
Ms. Glory is something else! I have a mom and aunts thats has attributes same as Glory. But she ain't no snitch and not scared of confrontation. The story is so relatable because we all know or has heard of people just like her. I lived that the story line touched our everyday lives and shows people are human.

Historia
Transformative and breathtakingly honest, The American Queen is based on actual events that occurred between 1865 - 1889 and shares the unsung history of a Black woman who built a kingdom in Appalachia as a refuge for the courageous people who dared to dream of a different way of life. Over the twenty-four years she was enslaved on the Montgomery Plantation, Louella learned to feel one thing: hate. Hate for the man who sold her mother. Hate for the overseer who left her daddy to hang from a noose. Hate so powerful there's no room in her heart for love.

Omg a must read a black history month must
Revisado: 02-17-25
This book tells and shows us the transition from slavery to freedom but also shows how blacks truly carried the and ran plantations. Without us the plantations crumbled. But it also showed that blacks also couldn't see themselves able to survive without the masters at first but through faith and hard work a kingdom was built. Bless God

Historia
Felicia Lyons, a stressed-out stay-at-home mom, struggles to sprint ahead of the demands of motherhood while her husband spends long days at the office. Felicia taps, utters mantras, and breathes her way through most situations, but on some days, like when the children won't stop screaming her name or arguing over toy trucks and pretzel sticks, she wonders what it would be like to get in her car and drive away.

A MUST READ
Revisado: 10-06-24
I could not stop listening. I now want to read the book. This book touched every area of my soul. I had to let my husband listen to certain parts. It also gave me a greater appreciation and respect for where I am today and the salary I am able to earn today because of the civil rights movement fought by my ancestors. If you don't understand the power of politics and how it affects and persuades and influences our justice systems you must wake up and realize that this is still true today.
