Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Well done.

I’ve listened to at least 240 books on Audible over the years, and I’ve never finished one and verbally said “wow” when it was finished. Harry is an excellent storyteller and narrator. Excellent book.

Historia
When Dr. Scott W. Atlas was tapped by Donald Trump to join his COVID Task Force, he was immediately thrust into a maelstrom of scientific disputes, policy debates, raging egos, politically motivated lies, and cynical media manipulation. Numerous myths and distortions surround the Trump Administration’s handling of the crisis, and many pressing questions remain unanswered.

It appears that Birx and Fauci are old school doctor/bureaucrats who have no idea how to critically evaluate research and translate the evidence into public health policy. Remedial college courses in research teaches differentiating correlation vs. causation, but they didn’t recognize their mistakes, nor would they be open to listening. Such arrogance. I hope we can all learn from this.

Historia
Iconoclast. Contrarian. Pugilist. Artist. Throughout his life, shrewd self-promoter and creative genius Edgar Leeteg possessed many titles, astounding fans and antagonizing critics. Considered the “American Gauguin”, the rakish ladies’ man originated the modern technique of oil painting on black velvet. Once memorialized by James Michener as the original rascal in paradise, he redefined artistic success by pioneering a form of painting in the South Pacific that would forever change the world.

The rascal in paradise.. this is a great listen!!!
Revisado: 06-25-21
CJ Cook did it again. I’ve always wondered about this “rascal in paradise”. This book is very well researched and cleverly weaves the together the story of Edgar Leeteg’s life in Tahiti, from early origins and artistical influences, to the legacy he ultimately left behind. After reading this book, be assured that you will find yourself performing an online search for one of Leeteg’s “velvets” currently for sale and daydream of owning one. They are beautiful pieces of art with an even more colorful back story. Thank you to CJ Cook for brining Leeteg to life.

Historia
The mutiny on HMS Bounty, in the South Pacific on 28 April 1789, is one of history's truly great stories - a tale of human drama, intrigue and adventure of the highest order - and in the hands of Peter FitzSimons it comes to life as never before. Commissioned by the Royal Navy to collect breadfruit plants from Tahiti and take them to the West Indies, the Bounty's crew found themselves in a tropical paradise. Five months later, they did not want to leave.

Historia
In the early evening of June 25, 1980 in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, two middle-class outsiders named Vicki Durian, 26, and Nancy Santomero, 19, were murdered in an isolated clearing. They were hitchhiking to a festival known as the Rainbow Gathering but never arrived. For 13 years, no one was prosecuted for the "Rainbow Murders", though deep suspicion was cast on a succession of local residents in the community, depicted as poor, dangerous, and backward.

Revisado: 02-10-20
This is a fascinating firsthand journey into a complex hometown West Virginia murder. There is an impressive amount detailed investigation and careful thoughtfulness put into this book. Two Rainbow girls up there should be forever grateful to Emma Eisenberg.
