Burke’s Genius is Unparalleled!
Revisado: 06-28-22
Burke’s descriptive abilities have no equal. I’ve been a voracious reader for decades. I have many favorite novelist. But I literally have never read another author that has power to heal or torture a reader like Burke can. He’s amazing! This book was a lot more metaphysical in content than any of his other Robicheaux novels and I strongly disagree that Donald Trump was the next Hitler. However I’m still a massive fan, I mean, the guy can split an atom with a sentence!

Historia
Return to James Lee Burke's "timeless, parallel universe" with detective Dave Robicheaux, as he investigates the murders of two women, tries to prove one man's innocence, and faces an enemy unlike any he has ever known. Gothic, dense, brutal, touching, and always compelling, Jolie Blon's Bounce is classic storytelling from a writer who has been dubbed "the Faulkner of crime fiction."

The standard of Historical Fictions
Revisado: 03-18-20
I have read all of the Kent Family Chronicles, Charleston, and The Gods of Newport. All of them where enjoyable, but Charleston and this book are on an entire other level. Absolutely FANTASTIC, the characters, the flow, and his ability to keep it all interesting really makes history come alive. I’m looking forward to the rest. Also I highly recommend Charleston if you enjoyed this book as much as I.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

SENSATIONAL!!!
Revisado: 09-19-19
Stephen King is with out a doubt the most accomplished novelist in the history of western civilization, his works and impact on our culture alone is staggering. This book however is my new favorite of his works. The journey it takes you through is FANTASTIC. The narration is excellent as well. Love, hate, fear, and sorrow are just some of the emotions that he taps into. WONDERFUL!

Historia
Dave Robicheaux returns in another Bayou adventure, this one more gruesome and gut-wrenching than any that have come before. Hurricane Katrina has ravaged New Orleans, leaving the streets and buildings flooded and the city awash with opportunists, looters, and vicious criminals. There is no order, no law. Police are shooting randomly at innocent people, prison guards have abandoned their posts, and bodies float through the streets and hang from trees.

BRILLIANT!!!
Revisado: 08-17-18
James Lee Burke’s unique descriptive abilities and his gift to wield adjectives like a Master Samurai wields a Katana, all coalesce with Will Patton’s unparalleled narration abilities into an absolute MUST HEAR! I honestly don’t know who is more brilliant in this production, Burke or Patton! WARNING: pausing this book may cause physical pain!

Fantastic!
Revisado: 07-10-18
The descriptive and imaginative command of the English language that Stephen Hunter can conjure is pleasure enough, the characters are so enjoyable in this book combined with a brilliant plot and great narration. This is one of my top 3 audio books ever!!! I’ve listened front to back probably 6 times over 3 years. It doesn’t get better than this!!!

Genius!
Revisado: 03-06-18
The correlation between post war CSA and post war Germany after WW1 is genius. This entire epic from “How Few Remain” till now is Turtledove’s way of showing that any civilization can plunge into Hate, Depravity, and Genocide. I furthermore think it’s important to know that with all the right factors the capacity for evil is in all of us despite our lofty notions.

Hugo Award winner Harry Turtledove is the master of alternate history. In American Front he envisions World War I as it may have been if fought on American soil. The United States and Germany clash with the Confederacy, France, and Britain as the machines of modern warfare litter the landscape with carnage. Meanwhile, oppressed southern blacks head toward a fateful confrontation.

Historia
For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard. Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes.

Fantastic!!!
Revisado: 08-09-12
What did you like about this audiobook?
It had everything action, mystery, humor, intrege, sex, and violence
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
By being so well written
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
He ties in a lot of factual history into his story and his grasp of the Geopolitcal spectrum is unmatched!
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
Nothing Guidall is phenomenal
Do you have any additional comments?
Vince Flynn is Amazing I celebrate the mans entire catalog! American Assasin would seem to be impossible to top, but he at least matched it. Rapp is badder than "Downtown Lee Roy Brown"!!!!
