Historia
We used to think being a woman had something to do with biology, but the nation’s top experts keep assuring us that is definitely not the case. So Matt decided to do what no man had done before. He sat down with the experts and asked them directly. Join Matt on his often comical yet deeply disturbing journey as he answers the question generations before us never knew they needed to ask: What is a woman?

Absolutely Essential Reading
Revisado: 06-29-22
You can't take the risk of not reading this book. This information is essential in the modern era. It's painful to listen to, and at time the material discussed is outright horrific, but it is very important for everyone to know what is going on in the modern world and especially the education system.

Very well done commentary.
Revisado: 11-29-21
I've listened to several other John McWhorter audiobooks here over the years, as they help preserve the education in linguistics that I recieved back in college. This was impressive both in his commentary on the religious left's use of language and in his willingness to do a clear and honest critique of a subset of a political side that he is not opposed to. If only more respected intellectuals on both the left and the right were willing to treat so honestly with their own sides, instead of pretending to accept extremist philosophy in their own camp in order to attack the other.
Very well done!

Honestly if I had found this one first I never would have listened to the other set. Most of these are still okay but the second recording is the real star of the show.

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

Designed to fill a long-empty gap in how we think about modern history, these 48 lectures are a comprehensive journey through more than 600 years of economic history.

Historia
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Good Story.
Revisado: 07-17-20
Could have lived without the preachy part of the author's note. Then again, I did actually learn about women agents of the Revolutionary War and many others in school. Apparently my right-wing homeschooled upbringing was more feminist than wherever this author went to school.

Revisado: 04-27-20
I took a point off in performance because the narrator constantly mispronounced the name of my home state(Nevada- he kept saying NevAWda, it's pronounced NevAHda), but apart from that he did okay and the book itself was a perfect sequel. I can't wait for book 3!
