Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world. But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Well, this is my new favorite book
Revisado: 11-10-24
This is what every great book should be: leaving you with a feeling of wanting to know what happens next.
I laughed, I cried, I jumped, and I was in their world. Thank you for the truly memorable experience. My only regret is I can only listen to this book for the first time once. I wish ADDIE could make me forget, so I could fall in love with her story again for the first time. I'll definitely be reading more of VE Schwab's books in the future :) I can't wait to recommend this to people. If you see this review, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give it a shot.
Side note: when I took a look at the narrator's work, I didn't realize how vast her body of work is 'cos she really gave it her all. I didn't even notice the transitions in between cuts like usual narrations. I'll also be on the lookout for the books she has narrated as well.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Just when you thought the hollywood machine can't get any worse, it does.

Growing up watching Jennette on iCarly, the stories recounted in this book sent chills down my spine. I admire the bravery, honesty, and rawness of the truth that Jennette was able to convey through her astute observations and performance.
