Can't understand the rave reviews
Revisado: 04-12-16
I am in the minority on this, and I really wanted to like this book, but I just can't. I find the premise weak and major parts of the story too incredible. It may be because I read mostly classics, but I found the writing to be sub-par. Sorry

Horrible narration
Revisado: 06-18-15
I am used to listening to very long audiobooks - classics, lectures and the like. But I could not bring ,myself to go very far with this book because of the narrator. I believe I would have enjoyed the stories if the narration were improved, but as there is only one version I had to return this book.

Good one!

Any additional comments?
I found the start to be a bit slow, but once I got into it I was hooked! I can imagine that the unabridged version must have the added value of making the characters more vivid and complex and would thus engage the reader even more. The narration was excellent. Another must-read for Du Maurier fans like me.

Far from the best from Du Maurier
Revisado: 02-07-12
If you’ve listened to books by Daphne du Maurier before, how does this one compare?
After reading Rebecca, My Cousin Rachel, and several short stories, I have become a big fan. Maybe I expected too much, but this book seems to fall short of her other works. Great narration, though.

A book I shared with my daughter
Revisado: 01-02-12
What did you love best about The Thirteenth Princess?
I have never lost my love for fairy tales, especially those with a refreshing point of view. Everyone has heard about the twelve dancing princesses, but this book's protagonist is the unknown
What did you like best about this story?
I am glad that my ten-year old daughter enjoyed the book as well, and listened to it at every waking moment until she finished the book.
