Historia
Cassie Andrews works in a New York City bookshop, shelving books, making coffee for customers, and living an unassuming, ordinary life. Until the day one of her favorite customers—a lonely yet charming old man—dies right in front of her. Cassie is devastated. She always loved his stories, and now she has nothing to remember him by. Nothing but the last book he was reading. But this is no ordinary book… It is the Book of Doors. Inscribed with enigmatic words and mysterious drawings, it promises Cassie that any door is every door. You just need to know how to open them.

The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

I was not expecting this at all. How can a write go from a savior to the same type of person who does the same. I couldn’t finish it. Horrifying. Abominable. Disgusting and disappointing. I want my credit back.

Never have I ever been more stressed out while listening to a book. I am writing this half way through, so possibly premature but most assuredly, enthralled. I’ll check back in after I have finished, but in the meantime I am firmly in this book’s grasp. Love it.

This is “Woman On the Train” worthy of a movie. It was as original as it was intriguing. Well t”written and constructed without being obvious, all the way until the end. Speaking of the ending, it was perfection! A fantastic listen!

But dangerous undercurrents run beneath the sunset swims and midnight cocktails—because each of the women is hiding a secret. Someone is determined to make sure that Lexi’s marriage never happens—and that one of them doesn’t leave the island alive.

This is the first book since “Woman in the Window”, that has left me wondering half way through. This is a fantastic book. Characters I love, the narration is perfection. 5 out of 5! I would love to see a full length movie!

Great Book! Unusual performance.
Revisado: 12-18-22
The book is great but the female voices were distracting and ridiculous at times. If the narration didn’t require believable female voices I would have given it a 5. But it’s a 3 for me just on narration alone.

Historia
April Clarke-Cliveden was the first person Hannah Jones met at Oxford. Vivacious, bright, occasionally vicious, and the ultimate It girl, she quickly pulled Hannah into her dazzling orbit. Together, they developed a group of devoted and inseparable friends—Will, Hugh, Ryan, and Emily—during their first term. By the end of the year, April was dead.

I’m struggling.
Revisado: 08-31-22
I love Ruth and I love the narrater, which is one of the reasons I chose this book. However, the main character needs a good slap. I’m struggling to relate to such a weak person with such a whiny inner monologue. I literally hate Hannah. Her character is everything that is wrong with that generation. Which on one hand is excellent writing, due to my visceral feelings of distaste for Hannah, but on the other hand, engrossing because I want to know “who done it”. My curiosity is the only saving grace.

Bad bad bad performance. I have no idea what the story is like, I could not endure more than a few chapters based on the horrible narrator.
