Historia
Deciphering an ancient alchemy book is more difficult than Zoe Faust bargained for. She'd much rather be gardening and exploring her new hometown of Portland, Oregon - but time is running out for living gargoyle Dorian Robert-Houdin. If Zoe isn't able to unlock an unusual alchemy book's secrets soon, the French gargoyle will remain awake but trapped in stone forever.

I love the Dorian character but find all the others to be frustrating
Revisado: 04-18-25
I completely dislike the kid...he's intrusive, sullen, rude and sneaky. The book would be better without him. The alchemist is a doormat ..she means wel but let's everyone walk all over her. Her boyfriend is kind of a jerk.
It was a good story but ended abruptly with no solution in sight for Dorian to survive.
Not sure if I will continue the series.
The narration is excellent though.

Historia
In Miss Julia Hits the Road, she is becoming increasingly concerned about her gentleman friend, Sam, who has suddenly started wearing cowboy boots, sending her flowers, and writing bad poetry. And when he shows up on a Harley-Davidson Road King and asks her to hop on, she's convinced he's lost his mind. Meanwhile, her invaluable housekeeper, Lillian, has been evicted from her home by her greedy landlord. Deciding that Lillian's need is greater than her own fear (not to mention loss of dignity), Miss Julia takes Sam up on his offer and sets off on a motorcycle Poker Run.

Historia
Michael Hiebert’s remarkable debut novel tells the riveting story of a small Southern town haunted by tragedy. Abe Teal wasn’t even born when Ruby Mae Vickers went missing twelve years ago. Few people in Alvin, Alabama, talk about the months spent looking for her, or about how Ruby Mae’s lifeless body was finally found beneath a willow tree. Even Abe’s mom, Leah, Alvin’s only detective, has avoided the subject. But now, another girl is missing.

fantastic book
Revisado: 02-10-24
Adam answers and addresses so many questions I have had. I recommend this book for everyone. You will learn so much and find so many hidden gems here. It would be a wonderful gift for anyone. Adams audible version, narrated by him, is so great because you can hear his stories and his thoughts expressed his own way. Thank you Adam. I hope there are more books from you and more Kindred Spirits in our future.

Historia
Lacy Marie Crocker can hardly believe it's been a year since her return home to New Orleans. There hasn't been a dull moment since opening her pet boutique last summer, and thanks to the popularity of Lacy's organic pet treats and the arrival of the National Pet Pageant, Lacy desperately needs some help before she is overrun by the demand for pupcakes and crinolines. Everything is going spectacularly until Viktor Petrov, the pageant emcee, takes a spill from the balcony during dress rehearsal.

The mother figure is really irritating. Glad Jack finally stepped up and she stopped vacillating. Hopefully Lacey's flakiness won't kill the relationship.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

a lot of valuable insights
Revisado: 01-18-21
I loved the insights and the thought processes explored in this book. We don't usually consider why we do the things we do or the attachments we form to possessions. This is a great place to begin.
