Historia
Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize. But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters.

Huge disappointment. Narration is bewildering and the writing
Revisado: 11-14-23
The narrator sounds less like a murder bot, and more like a kind fellow, running a petting zoo. I really tried with this book because I loved the previous ones in the series, but I finally had to bail after one hour.
I don’t know what the other two reviewer‘s of 5 stars and many accolades are talking about.
Please don’t buy this reflexively because you enjoyed the others in the series. Oh, what a falling off there was…

Historia
For a moment, things seemed to be under control for Breq, the soldier who used to be a warship. Then a search of Athoek Station's slums turns up someone who shouldn't exist, and a messenger from the mysterious Presger empire arrives, as does Breq's enemy, the divided and quite possibly insane Anaander Mianaai—ruler of an empire at war with itself. Breq refuses to flee with her ship and crew, because that would leave the people of Athoek in terrible danger. The odds aren't good, but that's never stopped her before.

Great book awful narrator
Revisado: 06-13-23
I can barely tolerate the narrators interpretations of different characters. I persevered because of the excellent story but the childish voices and irritatingly high pitched voice is a no go for me. I will avoid this narrator in future

Historia
Over the course of four dazzling novels translated into dozens of languages, Sjón has earned a global reputation as one of the world's most interesting writers. But what the world has never been able to read is his great trilogy of novels, known collectively as CoDex 1962 - now finally complete. Josef Löwe, the narrator, was born in 1962 - the same year, the same moment even, as Sjón. Josef's story, however, stretches back decades in the form of Leo Löwe - a Jewish fugitive during World War II who has an affair with a maid in a German inn

Historia
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

What did you like about this audiobook?
Lock Kelly draws the reader or listener in with generosity and grace. This is by far the most elegant and user friendly approach to the mindfulness/meditation literature that I have come across.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

What did you love best about The Slow Regard of Silent Things?
I love Rothfuss's book, but I am over the moon about The Slow Regard of Silent Things.
Its a magical story which shows the capacity of the human soul and mind to animate its world and remain resilient even in circumstances of extreme deprivation. If you liked Cast Away and the main character's relationship with Wilson, you will never want this book to end.
It is lovely and strange and beguiling and heroic and delicate and caste iron. You will never regard your mantel piece, or your desk top in the same way again.

excellent in every way except for background music
Revisado: 04-05-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Excellent poems, and excellent readers, BUT I found the background music intrusive and completely unnecessary-- If you like poetry, you know it stands by itself. Having a sound tract is like listening to too song played simultaneously. arg!
