First of all, the voice actor is absolutely delightful, and I'd love to hear him read more and more stories.
And now for the book...
I have no issue telling you that there's a happy ending, because I think it's the only thing that will keep you reading. I actually had to google this bit of info just to calm my nerves while reading it. Until the last 30-60 minutes, you are hit with unending murder, abuse, and fear of what's to come, with no glimmers of hope or comic relief along the way. Basically, Game of Thrones "for children."
I went in to this book needing something easy and mostly pleasant, but I would not consider this a children or even young adult book.
I LOVED the world it's based in and the hero characters you follow along the way, but the storyline itself only brought me sadness and worry.

Wow! A LOT happens in this book, and it gave me even more deep concepts to consider than the first. I loved being able to hear analyses from the Thunderhead. I am really looking forward to what's ahead in book three.

It gives you so much to think about!

This book gave me so much to think about! Even the final statement in the book about war. *chef’s kiss*
Perhaps it was intentional and directed by the author, but I didn’t love how everything the two main characters said was done in a bratty tone by the voice actor. It colored the characters a bit more arrogant and unlikable than I would have wanted them to be. But I was able to overlook that and appreciate the overall story!

Great for newer writers and storytellers

I would recommend this for those in the earlier stages of writing or spoken storytelling. As a writer, I did not find a lot of the content relevant to me, but I did come across a good handful of concepts that I can apply to my projects. The teacher is excellent and easy to listen to. You are guaranteed to discover some excellent tips!
