What did you love best about Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine?

I simply cannot give enough praise for this audiobook. It was outstanding. Pure entertainment. I couldn't stop listening. I know a book is fantastic when I look for excuses to do chores, laundry, drive, exercise, anything that will allow me to listen to it. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I came to simply adore the main character, who I must say is one of the best developed characters I have encountered. The cherry on top was the fact that the book is steeped in mystery and involves a dynamic twist. You find yourself laughing one minute, then deeply concerned the next.

I want to say that I considered purchasing this book for many months but was dissuaded by some reviews that described it as "dark." I am not sure I would describe it this way. It was certainly intriguing, mysterious, and contained some disturbing and intense scenes, but it's not a book that will leave you feeling sad or down. The author perfectly balances the heavier aspects with laughter and humor - a wonderful combination.

I must take a minute to say BRAVO to the narrator. I do believe she read the book exactly as the author intended, and her reading perfectly captured the lovable - and not so lovable - personalities of each of the characters. She truly brought the story to life. Probably the best narrator I've ever encountered. Beautifully performed!

Eleanor! Although Raymond was a close second.

Best business book I've ever read

Best business book I've ever read. Would highly recommend it even if you're not in the "business" world, as every day involves negotiation.

It can be nothing but divine intervention that led this book to my hands. Or ears, more accurately. I've never really thought about writing anything myself. But having listened to Anne's book, I realize there are many reasons to do so, reasons that have nothing to do with publication even. So now I will.

You know those books you finish and then immediately want to start over? The ones you dread finishing so much that you make yourself put it down just so it will last longer? The ones with the last chapter that you save to read in a special place and time so you can savor every last word? This is such a book. Enjoy.

The message is ok, but what kind of tool laughs while reading something that's not funny. Someone else should have narrated
