Story okay Narration Abysmal

I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and I don't think I've ever heard a worse choice of narrator. he sounds like a depressed 50-year-old. If anyone remembers those old commercials where that guy Ben Stein who was selling visine in that monotone droll voice. That's the voice. It absolutely doesn't work for an 18-year-old gamer. Unfortunately I can't go through that again on any more books in the series even though the story is good.

The entire series is amazing, just really great writing! Listening to it though, the guy who does the narration is superhuman. I don't think there's anyone like him!

Absolute Nonsense

Normally if I don't like a book I simply don't review it; it wasn't made for me but there's no reason to be mean about it. This book is a mishmash of crappy pseudoscience and shallow magazine article pop advice all strung together. I wish I could get my credit back and the time back.

great book, ridiculously amazing narration

After Game of Thrones and a whole bunch of cruelty torture incest and senseless murders, The Land was wonderful and refreshing. On to book 2. hard to explain but for me this was the fantasy version of Parks and Recreation. Good people doing good things and when necessary fighting bad people in a world that kind of makes sense.

Loved This One

I was a little worried after the last book, felt a lot like cut and paste. This one on the other hand was amazing maybe one of the best ones yet!

Not For Adults

It's the new year and I thought this book would be a fantastic way to recenter my outlook on life. After finishing, I was trying to imagine who this book was written for; I suppose a 10 to 12 year old is probably the best audience. It's a collection of self-evident lists strung together with some kitschy advice. As a grown up it's a little bit condescending - actually super condescending. At a much younger age, maybe just exiting Elementary School, the lists of advice might be just right!

Perfect for "Makers"

I have a lot of friends who are makers and they will love this book. For the rest of us it's fine, probably a B minus or C plus. The story is fine and kind of interesting the subplots are ok. It was a good way to pass sometime. In an ocean of amazing books I feel like I could have read a different one for the same time though. The others sense of multiculturalism is fantastic! Also the woman who performs the book is nothing short of Genius.

Great information poor performance

This was a tough one. The information was fantastic but unfortunately the choice made for the performance was to read it like a children's book sing-songy and condescending. It made it difficult to get through the material.
