Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Outstanding narration
Revisado: 08-11-24
The narration was outstanding. The only complaint I have about that is toward the end of the book one of the characters is male and is voiced similar to the main female character. I got confused several times trying to figure out which one was speaking. The story is good and character development is well done. I chose this because it was in the humor section and thought it must have been mislabeled when I was about a third of the way through the book. Nothing humorous, bordered on depressing, The humor (more snark than anything) comes later in the book. I felt like the ending was rushed and definately tied up in a neat bow, which was a little dissapointing. I thought the book did a good job focusing on what life was like for a woman in the 60's working in the STEM field.

A woman is slaughtered in vicious attack, and left in an abandoned building, handcuffed to a chair. Invited by a former colleague to join a new team in the South of England, DCI Jon Pilgrim takes on the case of the murdered young woman. Partnered with the captivating DS Kate O’Connell, they hunt for the killer. Jon must deal with gang bosses, jealous partners, and come to terms with his own tragic past to find the killer before the death toll rises. But as things escalate, Jon fears the past is about to repeat itself, and tear him apart.

Not A Deep Read
Revisado: 01-15-24
If you are looking for a simple, relaxing easy read, then this is right for you. It was too trite and juvenile for my taste. It wraps up neatly in a bow at the end. Nothing to chew on when you finish with the book.
