The excellent performances and the great sound effects!
Revisado: 01-29-24
I loved the twists & turns in the story; this was different from Christi’s “locked room “ stories but an interesting twist!

Not Sparks’ Best
Revisado: 01-10-23
This was a good story and good performance but it starts off slowly and drags through the beginning to the middle where it finally takes off.

Historia
Like many well-to-do Upper East Siders over the age of 65, esteemed art appraiser Percival Skinner had planned to spend his retirement living off his savings. But a market correction has left him living below his prior means. One day he’s visited by a dapper fixer in search of a famous work by a Renaissance master. Skinner knows the work well: The original was owned by his ancestor, and was passed down through his family over the generations. If, as an intermediary, he can coordinate a sale, a small fortune awaits. Problem is, he might not be the only one on the make.

This was a gem of a story!! An absolute delight with John Lithgow as the perfect narrator!! The author creates such wonderful images of various places in New York with the narrator filling in the personalities of each of the characters!! Wonderful!

One of the Best
Revisado: 04-27-19
I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery! Hugh Frasier was perfect in his performance so that I was eager to get a chance to listen to this every day! As much as I love Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, I found this story to be one of my favorite Agatha Christi stories! The characters were interesting and the plot offered lots of fun twists and turns!! Too fun!
