Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Clarity after years of the medias "news" circus
Revisado: 02-26-23
The media always seeks to pull in audiences and the more wild, the more eyes are on their stream of entertainment. As I see the next generation of royals growing up in the ever-increasing craziness of entertainment news I have to step back and wonder how Harry and his brother William ever made it into being the strong humanitarian men they are. This book took a lot of guts to make and more to publish. It is easy to spot those who really hate him for whatever reason or who prefer to keep their head in the sand and just spew out hate for anyone who rebukes the crazy media circus.
To hear Hary tell his story in his own words is wonderful. His stories about his time in Africa are something I have listened to a couple of times now. Started me thinking it would be nice to hear him read "Out of Africa". I think he found another line of work with this.
For the most part, his book is an enlightening account of his life growing up in front of the media cameras. It explained many questions and yet I still see the talking heads and their followers misstating and twisting up info for some unknown dark purpose. Granted there were a few things that could have been left out of the book or re-worded because he slipped into doing exactly what he said he doesn't like done to him. I blame the editor for that.
Though the book is mostly about Hary and his life he does eventually share his life with Megan. I have to wonder if he confused a wedding rehersal for getting married before the wedding day. He will not be the first guy to think that. He shares how the rift in his family started and finally, it is nice to hear the story from someone who was actually part of the story. I am amazed at how many talking heads and just people on social media are twisting up the information and sending out hate. I tuned into the same book but think they were just not really listening to the words being said because they wanted to stick to what they believed instead of knowing the reality from someone who was actually there.
Thank you Harry for being brave in publishing your story. Sorry, there are so many who prefer to nurture negativity and twist up facts. I do recommend everyone read or listen to this book "Spare" because it is a real eye-opener of what it is like for someone to grow up in basically a fishbowl. It also makes it easier to spot those in the mainstream media who are just trying to keep their ratings up by shredding someone elses person.
I really enjoyed this book, thank you Harry.

More to writing than counting words.

More to writing than counting words.
Revisado: 04-15-21
I listen to the audiobook because I am a working mom and need to multi-task every second of the day. Sounds like this guy is living a dream in a tropical place counting how many words he writes not caring if he is actually writing anything of true value. Granted the voice reading was upbeat the whole time, the message tries to be positive but writing books and blogs should not solely be about counting how many words you can write. I felt like I listened to a long wordy sales ad about his blogs, podcasts, and how he writes many words. Congratulations?
I am concerned with the quality of the story and the depth of the characters moving my stories along. This book never even came close to approaching such depth and what should be the soul of writing, sharing a story that captivates and moves others.
