Historia
Many people believe in God and believe that God is everywhere, but they have yet to experience his presence. What did it mean for Moses to encounter God at the burning bush? How did it change his life and his perception of God? What is keeping you from experiencing his presence in your life? It was in that burning bush experience that Moses began to understand and appreciate the sacredness of worship. Through this book, Tozer teaches how proper worship has to be equal to the one we are worshiping, so if we are worshiping God, we must do it on his terms.

Good but too lengthy and repetitive
Revisado: 02-28-25
I could not make it through even the audible version. it was way too long and repetitious for me. The narration was not great either as compared with other books on faith.

Many new ideas and concepts for me
Revisado: 01-02-25
I liked the authors detail and background information on Ayurveda as it applies to mental state. I was looking more for Ayurveda for bodily healing, but the two are interrelated. As I am a neophyte to Ayurveda, I learned a lot from this book.

Historia
It can begin with a one-time event - typically some form of sudden loss that disrupts our projection of what the future might be. However, the true work of healing is allowing that disruption to wake us from a deep state of unconsciousness, to release the personas we adapted into, and begin consciously piecing together the full truth of who we were meant to be.

rehash of concepts from other books
Revisado: 01-02-25
This is a book of mental healing not physical healing even though the two are interdependent. This book has many good suggestions and ideas but they are a repeat of material by the author and other works. It is also very long so it was not an effective use of my time. it is probably good for a first time reader of self help books

Historia
During a train trip from Chicago to Texas in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to write The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night, and when the train arrived at his destination, the rough draft was done. The depth of this book has made it an enduring favorite.

Excellent book on man God relationship
Revisado: 12-25-24
I have listened to several audible books on how to pray, how to relate to God, and this book is among the best. I will listen to it again if it stays in the plus catalog. I motivates me to try other books by the same author.

Excellent narration and well written, correct length
Revisado: 12-18-24
All of Thich Nhat Hanh's books are good. With the narrow scope of this this book, I appreciated the fact that it was not lengthened with repetition. As a pacifist, I learned several valuable lessons on how to live with contention and how to react to anger. it's worth multiple listenings.

Historia
In a penetrating and forthright style, Edward M. Bounds offers stimulating advice to Christian servants. "The preaching that kills may have insight and grasp of principles, may be scholarly and critical in taste, may have every minutia of the derivation and grammar of the letter....and yet may be like a frost, a killing frost. Preaching which kills is prayerless preaching. Without prayer, the preacher creates death, and not life.

Historia
The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

The content is excellent and the performance was good. There is a lot of overlap in content with the authors other books. This is not a problem because it takes several repetitions to stick in my mind.

Historia
Hardly a day goes by that we don’t hear about someone committing a violent, reprehensible, even evil, act. And each time it happens, before we know anything about the circumstances, we are already sure of one thing: We are nothing like that perpetrator. But how can we be so sure? After all, we are all human. In Understanding the Dark Side of Human Nature, Professor Daniel Breyer takes us on a fascinating philosophical journey into many of the deepest and darkest questions that have engaged humanity for millennia.

The signs are unmistakable. Jesus said there would be clear signs in our world before his return. Over the last few months and years, as we read headline after amazing headline, those signs seem to be escalating. Could Christ's return and our world's final days be very far away? Greg Laurie opens up the Scriptures, offering insight, warning, and encouragement to "make the most of every opportunity" in these challenging days.

a fire and brimstone explainion of end of times
Revisado: 11-18-24
The author writes like a "fire and brimstone preacher" who scares us into compliance. For example the author states that killing is ok if it is in self defense or in capital punishment. I prefer a kinder, more soothing type of book.
