Historia
This collection of narrative essays by sex workers presents a crystal-clear rejoinder: There's never been a better time to fight for justice. Responding to the resurgence of the #MeToo movement in 2017, sex workers from across the industry - hookers and prostitutes, strippers and dancers, porn stars, cam models, Dommes and subs alike - complicate narratives of sexual harassment and violence, and expand conversations often limited to normative workplaces.

What an honor…
Revisado: 08-23-24
This compilation of essays was, as my title implies, an absolute honor to listen to. Do not rush this piece; give these left behind voices the momentum and attention they deserve. I am weary to recommend this book to all as it contains triggering content related to sexual assault of many forms, however, if you are capable of facing such topics, I implore you to listen.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author of Fight Club, which was adapted into a major motion picture, Chuck Palahniuk offers a haunting tale. Winner of the Northwest Booksellers Association Award, Palahniuk is one of the rare literary geniuses who has been able to bridge the gap between a cult following and commercial success.

“When is enough, actually enough?”
Revisado: 08-22-24
Palahniuk is my favorite author! Yet another home run here - although I do recommend his best pieces: Haunted & Invisible Monsters

Historia
Sixty percent of humanity - some four-point-three billion people - live in debilitating poverty. The standard development narrative suggests that alleviating poverty in poor countries is a matter of getting the internal policies right, combined with aid from rich countries. But anthropologist Jason Hickel argues that this approach misses the broader political forces at play. Global poverty - and the growing divide between "developing" and "developed" countries - has to do with how the global economy has been designed over the course of 500 years. Global inequality doesn't just exist; it has been created.

Book of the decade
Revisado: 06-26-24
A phenomenal introduction to global inequality, the role of western economic power, and realistic changes that can be made for a better future for all. The structure and flow of such a complex topic was exceptional. Absolutely brilliant.
