Heyer does her usual great job at Regency comedy while Norgate brings to life a dozen plus characters of all ages and gender. The book is a fun and interesting look at life on the fringes of wealth and fame.

I was mistaken in an earlier review when I thought the wrong story had been recorded.

This is a collection of four stories, and the collection has the same title as the 4th story. All are wonderfully written and performed but my favorite is Story #4: Governed by Whimsy. It offers insight into the lives, crises, and triumphs of secondary characters in the Amaranthine universe. Found family abounds both here and in the first three tales!

Love the story, but the narrator’s generally masterful performance fell short each time the words “saguaro” or “barrio” or almost anything from the Spanish language were pronounced incorrectly, and I was jerked out of the story. It was like having a grand outing and heat rash simultaneously. . .yea and ugh.

Although the first chapter stumbles a bit, keep going for an enjoyable ride detailing the ups and downs of Earth’s first alien contact!

The narrator does a good job of keeping character voices distinct. His voice is pleasant and his pacing is effective. I’ll be tracking down more of his work.

If you could sum up Point of Hopes in three words, what would they be?

This is a wonderful story but be forewarned. The narration or editing is mediocre. I recommend suffering through the recording or reading the digital version instead so you won't miss the tale. Luckily, the sequels seem to be fine.

What didn’t you like about Matt Leisy’s performance?

The narrator...or an inept editor...kept repeating phrases and sentences. Arrgghh!
