Eva Walker is a 17-year-old math genius. And if that doesn't do wonders for her popularity, there's another thing that makes it even worse: When she touches another person or anything that belongs to them - from clothes to textbooks to cell phones - she sees a vision of their emotions. She can read a person's fears and anxieties, their secrets and loves...and what they have yet to learn about calculus. This is helpful for her work as a math tutor, but it means she can never get close to people. Eva avoids touching anyone and everyone.

Could have been a great story, but thanks to an abundance of church references combined with cursing (why - to prove you can curse and have sex but still appreciate Jesus?) the book felt incredibly forced at times. Most messages the book tried to get across weren’t even something I couldn’t get behind, but I don’t agree with how they were written. Too much, too many, too forced. Shame. Also one of the few times I got so annoyed so often that I felt compelled to write a negative book review afterwards.

Good story, pedantic at times

While I really got into the story, every once in a while I found myself getting annoyed by the pedantic tone of the book. Social media are dangerous and teenagers do not know what they really need, the message seems to be. Leaving out that message would have made for a much better read (and may have gotten readers thinking instead of just rolling their eyes at the abundance of references to 'the dangerous world wide web'). However, I liked the set-up of the book and still found Need a good read.

Quality of the audio was bad. Hiccups in the narrating. The story itself was pretty good and I really enjoyed it.
