Historia
Surrendering who you think you should be to discover who you are. Authenticity is a word we hear a lot today. We want to be true to ourselves. We want to define ourselves and count for something significant, being someone unique. But what happens when we’re unsure of who we really are? Are we good enough? Do we measure up to others? Do we even like ourselves? Everyone is searching for security, significance, and identity - it’s a human quest. We gravitate toward finding security and identity in our job, education, relationships, money, talents, or things.

The book I did not know I needed
Revisado: 02-27-23
This book was donated to my local school district and I checked it to see if I agreed with its inclusion. I now believe this book ought to be on every high school library shelf in this country. What I like about this book is that the author humbly explains what he has discovered in his own counseling practice in a way that I think everyone can benefit from. If you are looking for a rock solid foundation about who you are while shedding the societal and internal lies then this is the book for you. Perhaps one of my biggest takeaways that I think everyone needs to hear is, you are deeply loved and cherished by God, there is nothing you need to do to earn it and nothing you can do to change it.

Very little substance and poor narration
Revisado: 01-31-20
Why Daymond John chose Sway Calloway as a narrator is beyond me. What little substance there was it is clouded by poor pronunciation and continuous Shark Tank show as well as product promotion. As an avid personal growth and Business Development fan I was left unsatisfied.

Great program, AWFUL book

This book deserves a second opinion
Revisado: 04-25-17
The only reason I bought this book despite the negative feedback was because a friend recommended it. I want to respond to two points made by other readers. First, the claim that the author is using the book to pitch other material. I have definitely seen authors do that and I completely disagree with that claim. At no point did I get the sense that the author was pitching anything else. He only made reference to free material on his site so the listener could share this life changing suggestion. Second, the claim that the material is recycled is utterly false. Yes, he references other self improvement authors quotes. However, the work is totally original. I am an avid personal growth reader and have read nearly every author he mentioned. The suggestions he made are practical and powerful. While the idea may not be new, if you aren't already doing it then this book could make a major difference in your personal growth and a catalyst to incredible breakthroughs. Thank you so much for this book. Highly recommended!!
