Historia
With his work in Montana completed now that the Callahan-Warren feud has ended in marriage rather than bloodshed, Degan Grant sets out for California because it is far away from the home he wants to forget - until the US Marshal who saved his life calls in a favor. All Degan has to do is apprehend three outlaws on the marshal's list and turn them over to the law. Easy enough, he figures, for a man no one wants to tangle with. But then a bold young woman crosses his path.

Historia
Highland warrior Blane Sutherland has one mission: disguise himself as an Englishman, cross the border, and retrieve Lady Aliah de Mowbray. Always up for a challenge, he agrees, pursuing his conquest with vigor - and trying to deny the powerful desire that eclipses him each time he touches his charge. A rogue of the highest order and a younger son, he has nothing to offer a lady but a broken heart.

Good All Around
Revisado: 02-12-23
Eliza Knight is rarely a miss with her storytelling. Characters are likable, situations are believable, and the scenery is accurate 👌
Corrie is better listened to at 1.05x speed, it is what it is. Her English accents are spot on, but sometimes the Scottish accents lose their brogue here and there. She breathes life into the female protagonists.
A story about a young woman, who wants to repent for things that aren't her fault. A man who vowed to never have anyone he loves, lest they be ripped away from him. (He loves his siblings and clan, but is a bit of a womanizer) No cheating, no SA, S*x before marriage, childhood loss/trauma, repeat characters appear.
Excited to listen to the other books in the series since I accidentally started with this one first. I love the younger generation of Sutherland's books and would recommend reading them after you finish this series.

Narrators make the Audiobook
Revisado: 10-12-22
Excellent Naration, it's the reason why I picked up this book in the first place. I gravitate twards certain narrators typically, even if I'm skeptical about the story. As a never married woman in my mid 20s, I don't always connect with second chance love stories with a slightly older character age (FL is 30, ML is 42). However, this story was exceptional, warm yet real. It's definitely worth a reread in the future.

It all started with a bet. When my young son inherited half of his great grandfather’s historic inn, I decided to move us both to the place where I grew up. Notice I said half of the Inn. The other half now belonged to Levi Miller, the famous quarterback who had other ideas about what we should do with the property. We won’t mention that I accidentally injured him during our first meeting, causing him to get eight stitches. You could say we got off on the wrong foot. We bickered a lot as we both moved into the property while we figured things out.

Excellent Narration as always!
Revisado: 10-11-22
Great story, but it was a bit too much drama for me. Alex, the son, being caught in the middle stressed me out for most of the story. I feel like he would have been more perceptive to what the adults were doing the entire time.
The Two Years Later chapter was *chef's kiss*

I'm not a one-night stand kind of woman. I'm especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh. However, that's exactly where I find myself. What's a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can.

Sweet and Heart Aching
Revisado: 10-09-22
*Warning* deals with terminal illness and loss of family
Excellent sweet listen, if you want your teeth to fall out from all the sugar in this story. Heather is a strong cop, but has an equally admirable soft side. Eli faces his fears of love and vulnerability in a healthy way. He is also a good show of healthy masculinity.
I did not like the dynamics of Heather's female friends and their husbands. They are obviously in unhappy marriages but they do nothing about it.
The narrators are spot on with the way they portray the characters, but I wish Eli had more chapters from his POV.

Born into wealth and privilege, free-spirited Liv Prescott left it all behind when she realized there was more to life than living off of trust funds and barely skating by. Since then, she's worked and fought for everything she's earned and never looked back at the world or the family she left behind.

Healthy Masculinity
Revisado: 10-09-22
*Warning* deals with topics of child kidnapping, home invasion, sexual assault, and parental abandonment.
Great book, easy to love these characters. I didn't read the first three books, but now I want to. Liv is lovely, but isn't as self-confident as she first appears. Jackson has his priorities straight from the beginning, putting his son, Noah, first. Excellent show of healthy masculinity, raising a son to be another healthy young man. If Noah ever got a story in the future, I would love to read it.

One of the best listens
Revisado: 09-22-22
I loved it so much! Charaters: Amazing, relatable, funny, caring. Narrator: Excellent for both male and female voices, little hard to follow if we're just in Henly's head or she's speaking aloud some times, but I think that might have been part of the point. Story: Heart wrenchingly sweet, sad and funny. Definitely good riddance to bad rubbish for the antagonists.

The reoccurring characters from other books is a delightful surprise. I'm sad that the family was murdered, since we met the delightful couple in the book An English Bride in Scotland. I hope to see Claray and Bryson in later books.

Historia
Solomon Alexander is a tortured soul. Since being forced to drink from Avery Ferrand, a blood jewel, all he can do is think of her. He's addicted to this girl he helped rescue, but not in a way anyone would anticipate. He lies to everyone around him - denying his desire for her - so he may prevent his family from learning the truth. He loves her. But the feeling isn't mutual. Avery fears and despises Sol, so he makes the ultimate sacrifice - to walk away from everything. Including Avery.

Not the end but no continuation in sight
Revisado: 06-19-22
*Warning, Assault to pregnant and nursing women*
I need this series to continue. I don't care if it picks up where it was left off or if it's got a time skip.
Characters are great, Sol and Avery are a great contrast to Curry and Chancey.
I would also love a short novel or even just a chapter or two on the 3rd pair of Agape/protector mates.
Narration is great as always, it's a toss up for the female voices but his male voices stay consistent and it sounds so great.

Second Book

*Warning physical assault to 2 characters*
Great continuation, still love the male lead's POV but I wish that there could have been cross over from book 3 into book 2 so we can see other characters' motivations at the same time, while the events were happening. This book is definitely the bridge between book 1 and 3. if you get tired and want to stop in the middle and pick up book 3, Blood Doll, you wouldn't be missing too much.
