Historia
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Annoying male narrator when he played the younger Tom.
Revisado: 10-15-24
There is definitely a few twists in this book. It dragged in areas of female lead going on and on about how the killer must be in her life - in all of NYC?
I don't like books that you listened to for 10 hours, and suddenly it ends in 15 minutes worth of listening.

Historia
There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

Historia
Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

I am a fan of Ashley Flowers podcasts
Revisado: 09-14-22
I wanted to support her debut novel, so I used a credit and moved it ahead of other books I planned to listen to. Obviously there will be another book, or what happened to the main character? I felt like it was a "well I am tired of writing this and have to end it somewhere...." kind of ending. It was just convoluted.
I was so excited about trying out this new book I neglected to see who was narrating - Brittany Pressley. I avoid anything narrated by her because of how she puts a heavy "huhh" sound at the end of any male dialog, like every man has a gruff voice. Her reading just sets my teeth on edge, but I finished it for the sake of supporting the author.
Never again, thanks.

A riveting novel in which old friends must excavate the formative event of their childhood - a murder - and determine how to pit truth against justice. loved the writing
Revisado: 06-17-22
This was my first time listening to this author's work. I loved the book. I think the end came to a bit of an abrupt crash, tying all the knots of the story up, nice and tidy, but I like how he wrote.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

weird
Revisado: 05-24-22
Not what I expected. The actual murders had nothing to do with what happened with the girls in school.
I wouldn't go back for another by this author. I really got it because Richard Armitage was a narrator, and is one of my all time favorites. He just needs better material to work with.

Disappointed
Revisado: 03-10-22
I pre-ordered this because I love Candice Fox's other books. This one takes place in the US-confusing as all the others are in her native Australia. The editors must also be from down under since cotton candy was called "fairy floss" - definitely not an American term.
It rambled. The characters were so disconnected. This is obviously planned as a series, but I don't know that it would be worth a credit again.
Can we please get some more Harriet Blue?

Historia
God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

Scary predictor of our current political situation
Revisado: 06-24-20
Lynn Thigpen is an amazing narrator, with an incredible talent for audible books. She was the reason I bought it, but then the book itself draws you in. I thought, as far as a timeline, it was a little choppy, but not to the point of being distracting.

It all comes back in a rush during a hunting trip, when he's suddenly attuned to the animals around him, feeling their pain and fear as if it were his own. But the newfound sensitivity of Aiden's "wake up" has its price. He can no longer sleepwalk through life, holding everyone at arm's length.
