If, by chance, we have the ability to shift the course of history, then being faced with the unthinkable loses its sting. Whether at your own doing, the doing of some other person or group, or by unfortunate stroke of luck, when we are face-to-face with something we never thought possible, there is always something we do have the ability to do—choose how to craft our response.
