Historia
Setting out on foot with nothing more than some soon-to-be worthless cash and a little advice from a trusted teacher, Alex, Quinn, Josh, Cooper, and Dara walk through a burning city that has come to a halt. The devastation they see as they make their way out of the city is a small part of the horror that the nation will become. As the days go by with no food deliveries and no water flowing from taps, civilization will start to crumble and it will be survival of the fittest.

Definitely worthwhile
Revisado: 05-12-24
I came to immensely enjoy the "Stranded" series by Theresa Shaver. At beginning of book 1, I was rolling my eyes at thought that this was going to be an unrelatable story about teenagers boo-hooing about their defunct gadgets; but I stuck with it, and surely the premise got fleshed out and it grew on me. Each of the four books is very interesting, and they're all "a page turner."

Historia
Emily, David, Mason, Lisa, and Mark head to the California coast to find a boat back to Canada. They all felt that it would be much easier and quicker to sail home rather than go over land with the others. They were wrong. The trek through the lawless city to get to the coast is only the first step. Hardship and loss await as the teens struggle to overcome both the challenge of the journey and threats from within. The trip home will change them all - for good or bad, as the stranded teens make for home by sea.

Historia
The courageous groups of teens made their way home in a post-apocalyptic adventure story of survival after an EMP had virtually shut down modern technology across North America. What they find there after their long, dangerous journeys leaves them stunned. Their reunion begins in a hail of gunfire and only gets worse from there. The teens are shocked to learn that their town is under siege and their families, friends, and neighbors are being held hostage and some used as slaves.

Historia
From out of the clear blue sky, an unknown chunk of rock from the frozen void strikes the Earth with unimaginable force, gouging a wound into the very crust of the planet. Millions die in an instant, and millions more await the end as the looming catastrophe unfolds...Thousands of miles away from the disaster, a call comes in the middle of the night. Families act, and react, and while panic spreads, the world keeps on spinning. Maybe a little slower, and perhaps with a teeny bit more of a tilt, but such things are a mere trifle to the existence of a planet.

Hidden gem
Revisado: 03-07-24
Really excellent story, and excellent performance. Personalities are well-developed, and the action scenes, although plentiful and violent, are well-crafted. The laid-back performance style might be too calm for some, but it works well for me because of the intensity of the scenes. Like a Shakespearean director explained: for best effect, play the drama lightly, and play the comedies dead-seriously. The only suspension of disbelief needed is that a major meteor strike could be kept completely silent in our present world, in which everyone blabs everything, but don't let that spoil the fun. The sequel books are just as good.
