Historia
Benjamin Franklin is the founding father who winks at us - an ambitious urban entrepreneur who rose up the social ladder, from leather-aproned shopkeeper to dining with kings. In best-selling author Walter Isaacson's vivid and witty full-scale biography, we discover why Franklin turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind his new-fangled spectacles. In Benjamin Franklin, Isaacson shows how Franklin defines both his own time and ours. The most interesting thing that Franklin invented, and continually reinvented, was himself.

Audible - once again - is taking advantage of you
Revisado: 02-14-19
Once again, a probably good book and reading performance, is being made unusable by Audible, their software and production. Do not spend a Credit on this! Here's why: the gigantic file (first time download took well over 20 minutes), doesn't have chapters. Neither book chapters, nor artificial stops to forward or reverse to. This is a catastrophe for a 24 hours-long biography of a man, who's life is well known. I am in the first half an hour, which means that Walter has gotten to Benjamin's grandfather. By this pace, I will have to listen to three hours of this book until I get to even Ben's late youth (where it gets interesting). Hence, the lack of chapters is a giant screw up.
As much as I was looking forward to an in depth biography, this one isn't practical and Audible shouldn't sell it. Don't buy this if you are not willing to learn where Ben's grandfather set up his life in great detail. You won't be able to fast forward!

Historia

Great Content, good performance, terrible Product

Herr Westphal, I am sure, is pretty upset about this product as well. His performance it pretty good (at least good enough), but the product itself is so flawed that it is useless. Audible, in their ever so "we're just doing the bare minimum" has omitted to give the gigantic project chapter headings or any kind of other navigational help. I have downloaded the first four parts and they are randomly cut into 200 chapters that aren't properly described. Not even where or when a book like the Werther starts. So you have one and one choice only: let Goethe (Westphal) dabble along for 63 hours, without the chance to pick and choose what to listen to. Very upsetting, I wish I could return this mess.
