It’s just...meh

I still have three and a half hours to suffer through and am only willing to do so because I don’t like leaving stories unfinished. Maybe the ending will be worth it, but I have a sinking feeling it won’t be. So far this book has ruined the entire setting for me. If my opinion changes in the next three and a half hours I’ll let you know. If it continues like this, I doubt they will.

I ended up returning this one. I didn't like the approach or the lack of certain characters. I'm going to pass on the next one. I had high hopes and was disappointed. Maybe it'll do better for someone else.

Here there be dragons?

I'm a huge fantasy and sci-fi fan and this is the first Jack Campbell book I've read (listened to) but it is the best of both worlds. I loved this story and look forward to the next installment. Don't get me wrong, this is a YA love story in the end, with little world development, but it is well done and I think the development will come in future stories. I suggest you give this one a chance, if you don't like it you can always return it and get you credit back. Just try it.
