This is a fantastic world building story for The Vampire Legacy setting, but compared to the first book, this one is more drama, than thrills. The story picks up a couple of years after the first book and focuses on the fallout of that story's climax. While that story unfolds, you learn more about Deidre's creator and their origins, while she deals with more of her kind that she didn't even know existed.

Karen E. Taylor does a good job of expanding her lore and grows your ties to the characters with her writing in this story. And, to my pleasure, Autumn Grumorne returns for the narration, bringing her excellent voice work to this audio book as well.

Excellent Celtic Norse Fantasy

This was a fantastic story with a creative blend of history, mythology and fantasy. The lead characters were well written and so were the secondary characters. The narrator was fantastic and I will be looking for more of their work.

The concept of the book was fascinating to me, but as an audiobook the execution was very off putting for me. I only made it through the first few chapters, and I just couldn't finish it. This is probably a better book to actually read, as the story seems like it would better fit that format. The VAs in this do a very good job, and I don't fault them for not being able to finish it.

Excellent Vampire Story Throwback

Having lived through the vampire explosion of the 90ss, this was a great story from that time. Not your typical story, and I appreciated that.

The performance was great and the narrator brought a wonderful sense of that power and sensuality that vampire's exude.

For any fan of TTRPGs or even fantasy in general, this is a must to add to your library. The story is well written and the characters are relatable and endearing. Give it a listen and you won't be disappointed.

The continuation of the story is fantastic and further engulfs the listener into the world the author has created. If you think this at all appealing to you, I highly recommend picking it up.

Intense and Arousing

Definitely a good quick listen if crime, violence, and sex are things that you want in your story. The characters and tale are engaging thanks to great voice work, and by the end of the book I was definitely invested in the main characters. Guess I have to wait patiently for the next installment to see what happens next.

A worthy addition to the Dream Pack Promises world!

While there is only one direct reference to the first book, this story adds nicely to the world created by the first one. You learn more about some of the minor characters in the first book, and get to know a brand new one. The overall story itself is well crafted but Roxie's story is not one for the faint of heart, as it deals with some fairly heavy issues, but is one that I fell in love with.

The performance was just as good as the first book, though there were a couple of times that the recordings were noticeably different. With changes in volume and quality in spots, it's not enough to ruin the overall story, but it is something to be prepared for.

This is a fantastic story and sets up a wonderful world ripe for further exploration. While it is a sapphic tale, even a guy like myself was able to relate to the main character. I really enjoyed the performance, as it helped in drawing me in to the narration and visualizing what was happening. Highly recommend this book.
